A 120Y would never have kept up with you.
A MK1 Escort out handles and out brakes a 120Y stock for stock.
Your modified suspension may have contributed to you running out of brakes as your corner speeds would have been quicker.
-
A 120Y will do something similar, however the handling and braking are not in the same league.

Even 120Y's can cruise at 110

Yes, I may not have made it clear, but my comments were all towards forced induction of one sort or another.
-
I am not sure on this, so others in the know may shoot me down.
That said, I have a little LPG knowledge.
I have experience with gas, but not in a forced induction situation. ( Impco systems mostly)
My thoughts would be to convert from the complex converter/simple mixer system fitted factory, and change to a simple converter/complex mixer system.
A B2 converter and Gasresearch mixer is a known quantity with blow through LPG systems.
It can be made work very well.
Other people have had great results with Impco mixer and converter systems with forced induction.
I have not done either, but I know a lot of people have with great results.

Using Gerg's rule of thumb, maybe Emily is going to build a 325 hp crossflow?

Check the condition of the belts also. Look for cracks on the inside in particular.
A broken belt can really wreck your day.
-
I think it would be more likely to be the alternator belt, rather than the steer belt.
The steer belt is under very little load unless you are turning, whereas the alternator starts charging at a high level immediately on start to recover the charge lost while cranking, then reduces charge rate.
That said, it would pay to check all belts.
What is the car, what engine?

Offset grind and use small journal SBC 6" Carillo rods or similar.

One comment, I doubt the Aussiespeed 4 barrel manifold will fit in a RHD F series. Brake master looks too close.

I have a 300, it's in my '72 F350.
Yes they are long and tall.
I can take photos or measurements if anyone wants.

Or they were never fitted in the first place

Drive a modern turbo engine for evidence of what Slydog is talking about.
Instant torque and a perfectly flat torque curve (plateau/table?) from about 1500 rpm (under stall speed) to 4 or 5 thousand rpm.
Perfect drivability with great fuel economy, win win.
