Still.......... the noise.
Adding to this and what Gerg said, any pipes are difficult, and cook stuff, in any Clevo powered Falcon.

I just measured the overall height difference between a 600 vac Holley and a 425 on a 650 Holley throttle plate, the Impco is 30mm higher.
Not having the plate saves 12mm, but that leaves it 20mm higher.
I measure the 425 on the Holley throttle plate as 162 mm high, so close enough to your measurement of 158 mm.
If yours is 174 mm and clears (just), I should be able to get it to work.

I did that trick on a Valiant slant 6 a while ago. Shortened the L/H mount bracket 3/4" to stand the engine up a bit, and get some clearance for a long runner 4 barrel.

Yes, I have all my 425's on 4 barrel Holley throttles.
It currently has a 300 adapted to the Weber throttle (dedicated LPG), but want to go to a 4 barrel for more performance potential.

Does anyone know if a 425 will clear the bonnet on a crossflow XF?
Which manifold?

I had a similar issue with air cleaner clearance on a slant 6 Valiant.
One of the things I did to gain a bit of clearance was to shorten the passenger side engine mount bracket by 3/4", which gained more than an inch at the carburettor, I also raised the back of the bonnet about 3/4".

I agree, they are a bit odd looking.
That said, I would also like to have one.

Early BW35 XP-XW ish were shorter than the later (XA onwards)

Bring it in minus engine, gearbox, and brakes?
Or with those bits in the back, but disassembled and clean?
-
That seems like good value, add about $3K to get it here.

Yeah, I think repairing a rusty import is going to be cheaper/easier/better than trying to build one from a sedan/coupe/van.
-
I think a van would be easier, no, just less difficult. It"s not going to be easy.

GS Escorts have them as well, the switch panel that is.
-
Classic trim in the UK have a really nice one, a bit pricey though.
-
Thanks anyway.
Good to see you have it going well.
-
Where do you buy the repro centre panel?
-
Sounds like it is definitely going better
-

I haven't even got to the Darrin Morgan podcast yet, been listening to lots of the earlier ones.
Lots of great guests with heaps of knowledge.
The half hour drive each morning and afternoon is great.
