    570 secondary vac tuning

its not so much a bog its more a delay I don't feel a loss of power just nothing happens then it kicks in and goes. if I put a stiffer spring it doesn't delay but it takes longer to rev out. the car feels stronger with a lighter spring. what I should have said is can I tune the pump to allow me to run a lighter spring. its in a 250 4 speed with 3.7's
  3. Hi guys i can't seem to find the spacers that sit under the driver and passenger side mirrors on a TE. Does anyone know if these gt type mirrors will sit flush on the doors and sit on the correct angle. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-FORD-XY-GT-TEAR-DROP-MIRRORS-CAPRI-CORTINA-RX3-GEMINI-DATSUN-R100-RX2-RX4-808-/130989458879?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e7f9485bf&_uhb=1

Wouldn't 98+ octane booster have the same tuning ability as e85 without needing to convert anything over?

what would be the best/highest comp ratio to run on this sized camshaft. not sure on the manufacturer but i had it read by crow. inlet lift .502 exhaust lift .524 inlet duration at .050" 226, exhaust duration at .050" 234 lobe sep 110 advertised timing inlet open 25 close 65 exh open 69 close 29. any info would be good if anyone has used this size cam before.

    comp ratio to suit camshaft

i sent camtech a cam enquiry and they recommend the 510 and leave the 3.7's. $300 for cam $66 for lifters.

    comp ratio to suit camshaft

All I really know bout the bottom end is its got acl 8cc rebuild kit and hv oil pump. Looks like I'm gonna have to give cam tech a call

    comp ratio to suit camshaft

I already have non adjustable YT rollers. What is camtechs pricing like. I have easy access to crow as I work near by, last time I was there I think it was about $500 for a cam, lifter and timing chain set.

    comp ratio to suit camshaft

    comp ratio to suit camshaft

The car is a Te cortina on club rego so doesnt get driven much. The reason i started this thread awhile ago was because i was having trouble with pinging and was planing on decomping the engine. Comp was around 11.1 before i put a head saver shim in to lower it to around 10.5. I asked about the 650 because im not to confident with the shim and a cam change might be a better way to drop the cylinder pressures.

    comp ratio to suit camshaft

would there be much gain in changing cam to the crow 650 from the one stated above. http://www.crowcams.com.au/media/catalogues/19.0%20XF_all.pdf

4 barrel carb spacer/air filter combo

so after afew trips to vpw and the likes i have finally come up found something im happy with. i tried a 14x3 drop base-1/2" spacer, hits bonnet,14x2 drop base with raiser-1/2" spacer hit carb vent tubes filter lid wont seal, 9x2-1/2" spacer very close to bonnet and vent tubes ect. while at vpw they had a clearance box with different filter sizes and types. found a tapered filter that is 9" at the base, 5-1/4" at the top and 3" tall. this fits with a 1" spacer not sure if it will restrict much air flow but il drive the car tomorrow and see how it goes.

4 barrel carb spacer/air filter combo

The cortys a TE. Drop base hits also as they are 14"x3 and 14"x2 will hit the choke tower. The filters all hit on the bracing but in different spots. if i try to run the base with k&n lid it might hit the choke tower also as my carb only a street avenger.
  16. Hi guys does anyone know where to get the outer door mould clips for a te ghia. Not the chrome ones under the windows, the ones half way down the doors. The clips I got from rare spares are alittle smaller.
  17. i used a thing called a head saver shim. you use that and 1 headgasket, holmar spay the shim to the block and head gasket on top. seems to be holding up atm. mines a mild alloy head xflow with bout 10.3 comp still in it and timing locked at 30, using 98 octane.
  18. i was having similar problems before i decomped my engine alittle. i tried afew octane booster including the one above, i found this one to help with the pinging the best but to costly to use all the time. thats why i de comped mine.

Has anyone heard of procarb Australia. I recently seen there manifold for crossflows on eBay. It looks like a copy of a redline manifold. They are priced slightly under an Aussie speed. Does anyone know anything bout them?

    4 barrel manifolds on eBay

so i pulled the carby down and cleaned everything up. the jetting was all over the place, staggered and drilled out jets. he must have mainly drove it on the primaries as it was jetted bigger than the secondarys. the manifold as also been cleaned up alittle at the start of the ports. it will be afew weeks before i can fit it to the car so what should i expect, it currently has a 500 2 barrel.

    4 barrel manifolds on eBay

so i got my hands on a redline 4 barrel manifold and carb. the guy said the carb was a 465 but when i looked up the number 81570 on holley it came up with 570 street avenger sec vac. the guy had it on his xf speedway car and went back to a 2 barrel setup. so my questions are, are theses carbys anygood, anyone got any rough jetting specs to get me started(i havent stripped it yet to have alook whats in it). its got a 1inch spacer under the carby should i keep it on and am i gonna have clearance issues with the bonnet (te cortina). any tips or tricks i should do or im gonna have to do to make it all work well.
