I've jumped the gun a bit, already bought a set of pistons to suit. Most stroker kits sell with .030 size pistons I need .020 size ones so I'll need to buy in bits.

Ok thanks guys I'm taking it to a machinist soon, a little worried he would say "bin it".
If that happens it's going to be fun finding a decent crank for a good price.

I was doing a closer inspection on the crankshaft and I've noticed 6 small unusual holes on the journals. This from a late Cleveland block, is this something they did at the factory or from a previous engine owner and what would be the point of this?
The journals are all standard size.

Definitely no worth the money you pay.

Better to have yours built , then you know what you have
Wow was surprised about that, thought they were a good brand. Also looked at Performance Automatics but they're too expensive.

Looking to get the auto rebuilt I bought it as "need rebuild" but I installed it as is and managed to get 4000km before it starting to whine a little, more in 1st gear.
I was looking at the TCI transmissiona (not sure what they're like) and sell mine or would it be cheaper to have mine rebuilt by a local transmission builder?

Nope, other than disconnecting the tail shaft and loosening the u bolts to turn it over, this the only other way to drain the diff.

You were right to question that, upon further investigation I've found out it is not legal to have a GPS speedo in Australia.
"A speedometer that relies solely on GPS will not be able to meet ADR 18 and therefore will not be legal in Australia for a vehicle with ADR 18 on the conformity plate."
ADR 18 came in 2006 so I'm not quite sure if it applies to cars built from 2006 or applies to all cars no matter what year.
In the end it's up to the individual if they wan't to install a GPS speedo, I'm sure many have done mods that isn't exactly legal.

Well, I did solve the issue and it was a simple one.
I replaced all the globes with led ones except the dash lights and replaced the turn signal relay to suit the led's.
I know that some people have issues with the led brake/park globes either they have a single filament base or they need to be turned around to work properly.
I have the twin filament base one and though no issues in working, I found out it was the cause of the faulty earth of the problem. Once I replaced them with standard globes the issue was gone.
Wish I thought of it in the first place, would've saved me a lot of grief.
Bought four of these globes off eBay and tried all four of them and they still caused the same problem.
Maybe they don't work as a park/brake globe or maybe these ones are just shit. In the bin they went.

Hey Guys, scratching my head with this one, not sure where to start looking.
When I apply the brakes, my right front park light and dash lights come on. I've checked all the lights, reverse lights, wipers, heater fan all work normally with the brakes applied or not.
Any ideas where else to look?

No probs in the outback country unless you're driving through a tunnel.

No idea, didn't think it would be an issue so long it works.

Yeah that's the downside.
Looking at Speedhut gauges as well.

Which car you're installing?
Would be better under the dash, no need to worry where to conceal the cable.

Anyone has one or knows someone who has one?.
Thinking of getting one but not sure where's a good place to put the antenna for my ute.
The roof would probably be ideal but not like this:

Whiteline are Synthetic Elastomer in between rubber and urethane (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think you're gonna find aftermarket oval shaped rubber ones.

Yeah I thought of making one up, doesn't seem to be one available to buy.
Wondering if I can get away just with the broken tab still holding the valve in place or will it eventually pop out?
-
Hey guys, bought a c4 tranny and the selector shaft seal is leaking so I need to replace it.
Had to remove the valve body and a piece of flat metal fell out. Figured out that it is a broken retainer. (See example pic below) The tab is still holding the valve but the flat part on top (circled in pic) has snapped off on the end.
Not sure what happened there but was wondering will it still be ok or will I need to get one?
Anyone know where I can get one of these? Cheers

I have a cable specifically for XB handbrake to XC rear calipers.

The shifter I have has the bracket for a C6 plus I have a 31 spline yolk so I could go either C4 or C6. I wanted to make sure the C6 is not overkill in weight or power robbing compared to a FMX if I choose to go with that.

What's the deal with my crankshaft?

Ok, end up taking the crank to the machinist said those holes were strange but said wont be an issue. Crank getting a grind and balancing done.
Just glad there's no need for a replacement.
