East/west adapter from Aussiespeed arrived today, and it works!!!!!! So what is this threaded hole for?

They came on some crossflow motors I picked up. So she fired and ran. But I fucked up and forget to tighten the fuel line! Fuel everywhere and now the battery is flat. So tightened the fuel line and charging the battery to try again.

It's in!!!!! Now to hook everything up.

Just got the OEM rocker cover on there so I don't get the Aussiespeed one dirty Stripped an old dizzy down so I could use the shaft to spin the oil pump up. Worked a treat! I'm glad I ask a heap of questions, 'cause you guys have the answers. Saved me more than a few times!

Fuck me what an afternoon! One of the engine mount bolts was stripped, so had to run into town and get a Helicoil kit, $80 later! But I feel better knowing all 6 engine mount bolts are doing their job. Then finished fitting some bits and pieces and finally got it off the engine stand and got the flywheel and clutch on. And then struggled for an hour trying to get the gearbox on by myself and fucking my back in the process! Got the mother and father in laws to help me and finally got it lined up and on. Into the ute tomorrow! And now for some Beam to dull the pain.

We have one on the shelf, but the Repco ones use M8x1.25 bolts so no idea on what yours will be. Thanks man, I ran an M8x1.25 tap through it and all good now Today's job is to get it off the engine stand and get the flywheel, clutch and gearbox onto it!!!!

The originals are 5/16 UNF? They don't fit.

I've got a Protec water pump and be fucked if I can find bolts to fit to bolt the pulley on with! The originals don't fit, so I grabbed some M8x1.25, which should have been the metric equivalent, and they don't fit either! So now another 60k round trip into town to try again! Fuck me!! Just make the bloody things the same as the originals! In better news. This arrived today.

Cool good to know. I saw one of their Holden manifolds seems to have the same slope. Waiting on some parts to arrive, hopefully today. And trying to get the goddamned son of a bitch shitty bloody dipstick tube out of one of the blocks to put into the new one!!!!!

Bugger, no bolts came with it, or I have misplaced them. I'll have to grab some when in town next. I'll get a plate made to level out the manifold. Heights not an issue.

Not sure about the manifold coming off a boat, could have. Guy I got it off had it running on his crossy. Put the new waterpump on last night and it looks like it has different sized bolt holes to bolt the pulley to! The bolts off the old one don't fit!

Not sure what happened to the video. Doesn't matter, got it sorted. And todays progress. Wrong sump gasket, so didn't get that on. Got the fuel pump, water pump etc. on. Bolted the manifold on and sat the carby and air cleaner on there for a looksy. Went with a 9x3" setup. It will sit up higher when I put the Aussiespeed east/west adapter on there. I want it poking through the bonnet and I'll make a new bonnet scoop to cover it. Not sure if I will paint it gold or leave it raw alloy. The odd thing about this manifold is that the carb mounting pad is angled??? There are no markings on the manifold other than a firing order.

Thanks gents. Starting my 6 days off today, so go go go. Plan is to get it all back together and back in the ute. I'll put the original manifold and Weber back on for the start up as I know it all works fine and came off the previous running motor. I'll prime the oil system using the drill method, and then get the new motor fired up and straight up to 2-2500 rpm for 20 minutes???

I probably should have asked this yesterday, Other than the obvious up and down , is there a position the lifters need to sit? I noticed the hole in the side of them, does that need to line up with the hole in the block for the oil?

I'll give it a go using the drill to prime it And speaking of radiators, I picked up a brand new still in the box radiator for $50 on Wednesday.

I am. It will sit for a few more days before it gets started, so I thought it a good idea.

Oh Holy Shit Balls!!!!! Ummm, so Michelle had a bad idea and we added up all the receipts we could find, and what we could remember I have spent on the ute! There are a crap load of receipts missing as I didn't keep them all at the time. Oh Crap. It's around $8000!!!!! This is tools I have bought as well,,,,,,but Jeebus!
