Not to much been going on with this so i had to have some bing done better now then the boring plastic cover
-
Yep you've convinced me, entered Jambo so we'll see how I go!!!
-
Yes it is mate, I've claimed it on ford aust forum and Facebook closest one I've herd of is 12.97 in a BA which is still pretty good.
-
yes it's mate. It's looks now to be making more power in the car then on the dyno, we have tweeted the cam timing a few months ago I'd say it's making 15-20hp more then the xflow did now.

Went out last night to make the most of the "cold snap" netted some good times. Might have more in it might not, I'm really not sure any more!!
-
Went back out testing again last night, first time in 2 months We haven't changed anything overall, had a missfire in the 1st pass so we changed the plugs and it was a jet after that had 4 good runs in a row pb after pb so all in all happy now. Weather was good but no were near cold enough. Also did a perfect 000 light on the last pass 1st time ever in probably over 1000 passes!!

Very complicated traction control, not needed or practical on a car running said 60' times, Bolt on a set on mt radials and you won't break traction at all. As for the op engine I'd go for a 600 vac carb will do the job fine, imo the 465 is a little small for this engine combo. I've tried both carbs and the 600 was better then the 465 both cruising and at wot. Just my opinion though.

There's no way there stainless, they're rusting. They are hpc coated. The look like mine did when the coating fades. Used stainless headers dont look like that!!

Went Out On Wednesday night for a few test runs. The weather is finally coming good and the performance fo the car is now showing. The best the crossflow did was 11.582 @ 114.44 at -414 ft altitude in the dead of winter, raced the other night at 550ft and netted the times below. There is more in this yet still getting our heads around the new motec tuning style. I also get the car back down to the same weight as when the crossflow was in it so i can have a real compare of the performance of the 2 engines.

Went into the vault for you, 2.03 60's for both carbs mate!! the 500 was a good carb but the 600 vac had way more top end, 3mph is a lot with a carb change. 215/60 nankings 1280kg car Jezz 2.03 60'!!! now I do 1.66 and I'm not happy!!!!

I have been racing for a few months now in the new season at willowbank, but not to much to report other then HOT, times will come down when the weather does!! The car is faster then the crossflow at the same weather so I'm hoping a new pb will be run this year!!. I have been trying to sort out the 60' time and once I get rid of the rich spot seen in the data log below that will come to us as well. With the new ecu and the new way motec is doing things we are struggling to get rid of this but have had some discussions with motec and have some things to try next time out.

Or make the 3mm version then use it as a mold for a fiberglass version, Just what a drag car needs more weight, its already over weight now!!!!
-
I was under the impression that they are the same from E series right till BA?? FG top BA Bottom BA in car FG in car the orientation is the same the FG is just shorter in length by about 30mm from memory.
-
The ba and fg are the same orientation so the solenoid is in the same spot, yes the flange has a large tab on it but could be ground off.

yeah the wood the go just drilling holes in it to make it lighter!!! I have had a couple of issues that came up and was avoiding pulling the motor but once i did it they had to be fixed. Had a little sump clearance issue so the corner of the sump had to cut off and re-welded. Also I'm plumbing in a oil/water heater to try and get some oil temp which I really struggle with, and have had a leak in the gearbox front area which as been driving me nuts so i have pulled the trans today and think i have found the problem hopefully. All going well should be back together soon and testing before Christmas.

Eeeek
-
I knew it would be heavier but need to know how much as it is factor in the front half of the track. Now I know the lighting begins I want it back close to the old weight to compare the time better.
-
its on page 3 mate, its just a csr pump into the stock housing and a use a ati sb chev balancer and vbelt pulley as i only have the alternator to run. Didn't race just went out and weighed the thing not a happy result.

Thanks, as wagoon said all went well apart from some sort of gearbox oil leak car ran strong and felt good, it kind of caught me off guard on the first pass pushed me into the seat it seamed, not sure weather that was from 11 months not driving it or a new more stable seat!! So 1st run was just a click second gear and coast checkout pass came back then checked everything over then ran; 11.762 @ 115.04 11.749 @ 114.86 11.732 @ 115.08 The car is abit off in the 60' and 330' for my liking but will sort that out it is back halving faster then the old engine already even on that 1st full pass so pleased with that as well. The fastest the xflow ever did was 114.4mph on the hard cut and never did it again so speed is already up just need to get it off the line quicker and we'll be in the ball park. Overall pretty happy its, 1 going and 2 turning pretty decent times. Now I just have to go through about 200mb of data logs!!! information overload...

All finished (for Now)
