Installing new steering box and pitman arm
mcfly94 posted a topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
Got a new box on its way, got a new pitman arm and got a nolathane coupling kit on the way. Atm I do not get the same full lock on both sides, and I think the pitman arm has been installed in the wrong spot, is there a way to make sure it installed in the correct spot? -

Just had look on mc Donald bros racing website and its $385 for xe/au lower tubular adjustable trailing arms and $365 for upper. It would be worth it if you can cut those costs down -

yeah, that's where the keyway is done, every 90 degrees and its quiet a bit of bloody movement, and I think I should only be able to get it on one way. -
I think he should start custom plenums intakes too

yeah good point, but I though maybe I could get it on three of 4, centre, to the left or to the right, was hoping there was a way to line the pitman arm on the box to make sure it isn't in the wrong spot. -

Yeah that makes sense. I reckon the finish should be polished. My be up for this too! -
Will do, wont wont hurt to run all new fluid through when I do the lines, and reseal the front calipers
-
My front standard lines are cracking and brittle, and I already have the new ones in the shed , I used bendix dot 4 before, is that alright?
-
Thanks guys ill get my stuff ready for when the nice weather kicks in! Im my list I have etch primer, primer filler, ice blue metallic base and clear, and spray gun. I already have fibreglass bog. What sort of tip is best for each paint type, best paint mix for each paint type and best pressure for each paint type?

Sounds good!, help with them lowered cars, will they be polished , and what about upper arms -
can you use 2pak primer filler with acrylic paint?
-
what type of primer goes over the etch?
-
Slightly improved by changing nrv. Will grabbing another booster to see if can improve it anymore, but no noises atm. I think my spongy breaks are definitely down to flexing brake lines and fluid.
-
what brand brakes and suspension to buy
mcfly94 replied to jamie247's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
Thats why you cut them in half -
alright thanks mate, will get another booster and check everything out, cross fingers!
-
forward out of the booster?
-
god damn brakes, hopefully get to the bottom of this soon, what are the chances of master cylinder gone?
-
Found a spare nrv in the garage so ill give that ago. My front brake hoses are cracking etc.. have new one to replace, so they could be bulging. Don't think I have loose wheels bearings. Pads could need changing, do need new rotors.
-
may have to grab another booster and give that ago!, cheers guys!

I can sort of hear noises coming from that area/ hard to change non return valve?
