I fitted an EB 5L to my XG, kept it column shift auto as i have 2 kids that like to go cruising. all the wiring is from the same car i got the motor and box from, which i obviously had to modify, that would have been the most time consuming part. It has a Northern Territory modification certificate, where i originally started building it, then i moved to Qld and got a modifiaction plate, was only $95 for the plate and the engineer drove to my house to do it!!!

The heater core only not the case! the tubes come out at the top of the firewall, just like the XD & XE does...
-
Ive done it but 25 years ago and no pics. Turn the heater core upside down, Drill new 30mm holes in the case & firewall, plug the old holes, done...

I started with a facet pump in the engine bay & it struggled to keep the holley float bowl full, so i hooked it up in the boot & was heaps better but still no good at high revs. 6 psi is all you need & a holley can handle

The EFI cam shaft doesn't have a lobe for a manual fuel pump, i removed the in tank pump & replaced it with a length of hose. Fitted up a holley red fuel pump, they are allready set at 6 psi, perfect for a webber or holley or the holley blue has a regulator. I fitted an after market manifold with a 2 barrel holley, fitted an XE V8 accelerator cable, I made up a short harness (5 core trailer harness!) that went from the factory EFI connector near the brake booster over to the manifold area. XE dizzy & coil which was only 2 wires, oil pressure light (& guage) & temp. The best part with this set up is i didnt chop or modifie anything, I wanted to go back to EFI later, which i did when i eventually sold that car, which is the red XF GHIA in my avator.

i had 1 pressure pack mixed up just to paint the engine bay. I was a bit rushed for time & this was the quickest way. 4 litres can usually cover an entire ute if you use it sparingly.

got heaps of picks, hope some of these might help???

This is my old thrasher, a mint glaze XD, & next to Xdrift in darwin. I allways thought they were rare & i still think they are! In the last 2 years ive seen a few around, including 2 sedans at the brisbane all ford day 2 weeks ago.

i managed to reuse mine, if you wanted to have a look see how it goes i could show you my XG in my lunch break?

How many do you need? i used to work for a scrap metal yard & they chuck them out all the time when they completely scrap a car!!! sunshine coast QLD -
EB ED XG is half an hour, EF EL is 61 minutes & you don't need to leave any doors open, just leave the drivers window down. i've done this hundreds of times!!!

My xg has smart lock, but the interior light does not work or side indicators!, it doesn't even have any door lock actuators, so it doesn't lock anything. All it does is flash a light on the dash & used the tibby lock & barrel with smart lock. It has an EB 5L with engine bay & dash harness in it etc which all reprogrammed together as it should. There are 2 red with blue trace wires going into the smart lock module, if you join these 2 together before the module it gives direct power to the starter motor relay, ive got a hidden toggle switch in there so honest thieves think its got the full smart lock feature.

Zl heater box working XE dash? (Air con switch/Vac lines)
Scottee XDFwreck replied to mcfly94's topic in Interior and Car Audio
I built an XF 15 years ago with an XE dash & complete wiring, xe front etc. the only things that remained XF was the shell, the rear bumper & rear seat. Any ways i fitted the XF evaporator/heater box, used all the xe vent controls as thats the dash i was using, i also modified the fan speed resister by cutting the guts out of the XF resister & gluing the guts of an XE resister into it. Both resisters are different!!! -

Piece of hard wood shaped like a chisel & tap it off with a hammer from the bottom edge. Goes back on with a rubber mallet. Have done it this way plenty of time without damage... -
Cable to hydraulic pedal box
Scottee XDFwreck replied to Thom's topic in Transmission and Differential
The main problem with the cable peddle is it pivots in the wrong spot & will keep cracking your master cylinder untill you get the right pedal & longer brake/clutch pedal pin. You can lop the old pivot of if you can't find the right pedal box assembly. The auto ones sometimes don't have the steel bush pressed into the pedal box housing for the extra weight of the clutch pedal.
