Change the block would be my suggestion, cheapest and simplest option

What about eb or el gt wheels? At least you will know they are decent quality. What sort of tyres are you running Falken Azenis, Hankook Ventus etc?People usually asking stupid money for them

Was gonna use one of his carb's for a boosted clevo build, this is what he told me his rates may have changed but something to go on
"zok"tunes start at $450 which gives you two hours on the dyno and for most combos thats enough to sort out carb and timing its only when you have to do major mods to carb or dizzy that you need to spend more time
-
Zok yes he'd be the only guy i'd use for a carby tune
-
Im hoping that I dont have to go to the same lengths as Crazy did, but going off everything that I have done in my build it will probably end up in some full custom bullshit. Will have to wait and seeJust don't cut the car up lol that's what my shell is for :-)

If it runs a map sensor or something it probably won't change it due to how ecu's are mapped

different ecu's will have different issue's, could be from a different cc bike? or if you know its all the same then might have been tuned at some point?
-
ah well i got no idea on bikes lol
-
what car is this in?

The box came out of my old xf ute which had a custom crossmember to suit so I was hoping I wouldn't have to make another

Cheers man, you've been a good help over the last few weeks if we ever meet in person drinks are on me :-)

Sorry if this has been answered before but couldn't find anything on phone, does the crossmember from xd with BW box bolt up to a c4?

Haha true. Was there a year it changed?

I don't know the exact year but i'd say it'd be around when they released the mk2 if i had to guess

I only mentioned this issue cause Gromit asked if NA & turbo motors were the same.
I've only owned one, so don't know heaps about them, but logic would say that comp would have to be lower on a turbo engine.
This might be achieved by simply fitting a thicker head gasket. I'm not really sure.
All the 6cyl lads will know.
yeah i edited my post as i was on phone and didn't catch that part sorry, you are right though.

Yup knew they had a bung. Have drilled one with no dramas too though

I'd rather find one with the hole, i don't like my chances of not fucking it up haha cause i'm guaranteed too
-
Nah they changed and had no hole whatsoever, you can drill the block as long as you get it in the right spot lol early ones just had a rivet of sorts to block it off

Wouldn't Comp ratio be different from a turbo motor & a NA motor??I've heard that an Egas bottom end is the way to go because they had a stronger bottom end to ease the detonation issues that the Egas motor suffered from.
Pretty sure they mean turbo fg block to suit the applicationok re-read first post... yeah they are different and would be better to get a turbo block to start with, egas you still need to change pistons as they are high comp motors

If short block with all the old accessories it should be ok, still might have to mod a couple things as the fg routes the loom differently through the head for coils and injectors but would be simple mod.
Be careful of which fg block you get as the later ones don't have the second dipstick hole at the front

I thought of the same thing with my ba xt, but keeping it n/a. I could do it as I have one already modified to fit e series so it'd swap straight in, wiring would be the biggest job and it being my daily I don't wanna do the R&D

Bf turbo would be straight swap and better internals...
Fg use different oil pan so you'll be doing a few mods just to get it in plus wiring for the entire motor is different even though pin outs are almost same.
Edit* gearbox will bolt on no problem, you'd just use ba engine mounts, additional bolt on's like a/c and power steering might have slightly changed so pipes might need changing to suit

Thanks guys I'll throw it on my mates hoist when I give it a go

Shit aye... Oh well it is what it is, just slap some log manifolds on in reverse and strap on a turbo haha

was hoping i might be able to throw it on a hoist and jimmy it up through the bottom
I'm scared of scratching the paint the most lol so i think lots of blankets/rags might be in order when i'm ready to attempt this

So I'm wondering if there's enough room to fit a set of extractors (maybe 4-1) while the motor "clevo" is fitted, car is xe with no power steering and i'm guessing i wont be able to fit starter till they're in... I've attempted to fit a set in an xf with powersteering, and i was able to get the passenger side in ok but had to lift motor to get drivers side in, in saying that i'm pretty sure i scratched the shit out of the engine bay and i'm trying to do it without making a mark as the paint is mint
which 4.0l engines will fit xh ute ?
in 4.0 OHC

same principle as au motor, except fg run a rear pan sump so you'd need to change to a ba/bf sump and oil pickup also move dipstick which most fg have the spot for its just got a rivet insert to remove...
