yeh i usually have done it that way gaz but since this engine is a little bit different. i only ever have really played with stockers. i had to get my head around it a bit better

hey dudes i got a 250 crossflow. it all ways seems to run like its 180 degree out in the timing. i dont know if its a dizzy thing because i got with the engine a dizzy without a vacuum line. so i decided i might give that a try. i just plugged up the vacuum line on the manifold. it just seems to backfire out of the carby alot. its got a cam upgrade getting plenty of fuel and its got lots of spark. we tested the front cylinder for dead center and tryed a few things none seem to work. anybody got a idea? i might try swapping the dizzy from the old engine to new see if it helps

man got it roared up last night sounds good. doesn't seem to have any problems atm. i am well and truely happy. didn't feel like i thrown half a grand in the bin anymore i will keep that in mind for next time. the atf and acetone thing

i got a 250 crossflow and i cant spin the flexplate to bolt up the stall converter i was just wondering whats the best way to free it up. i figured maybe poor some fresh oil down it or wd40 the fark out of the crank. what are your guys inputs.the engines meant to be all good its just been sitting for a while

i got it i retarded the timing a fair bit and she fired up no backfire fark im wrapped. thnx for the help anyway. yeh it would be closing on number 6 or so. i think its like 20 something degrees retarded.

its a different balancer that its got on it maybe put in wrong spot? i got the engine with all the work done to it before i got my hands on it. it was meant to be a good running engine but. ive checked for other lines marked i haven't noticed any. just put dizzy on number 1 with both valves shut. still backfiring carby and no go.

what if the its not on tdc when the front 2 valves are closed and a fair wack away from tdc? stick dizzy in on number one when the valves are down and forget about tdc? lol and should i use the old vacuum dizzy any major difference?

lpg shouldn't freeze up if its pure. but with all the impurities in the gas from usual servos. the impurities will freeze up. at least thats my understanding of it anyway. if you fill up at say supergas or something then you shouldn't get all the impurities. and yes mine is duel fuel but petrol doesn't seem to work so i tuned it for gas. i dont use petrol in it anyway. problem with my system i tend to think that the negative on the coil isn't all that good. or the negative wire. i found the wire there where they actually cut the wire. tried re-attaching it and i had problems with starting in the cold. i had problems when i got to 120 'i done it in a quiet spot' then the it start surging a bit. though getting the pulse feed from the spark plug leads. it starts up with hardly any problems. freezing, cold and warm with only a couple turns. and no surging problems at 120. i figure im not going to bother about it until i need a new coil. it still gets good spark

i seem to have this weird ass problem with my ute. i tried having the pulse wire connected to the neg of the coil. like you should see on most. but when it was cold. it was a real uber c**t to start. i tried wrapping it back around the spark leads. i wrapped it around a couple to make sure 1-5 like it originally had. hardly have a drama starting it up. real weird issue but you can maybe try that

g'day i was looking for ideas on how to remove the compressor for the air conditioner. i was thinking just cut it off from the firewall. shouldn't be any coolant running through the pipes or anything should there? i was thinking of doing it roughly for now. then remove it properly. when i finally get around to ripping the dash out
