G'day guys. Im getting a au headgasket for a 3.9 engine with a eb xr6 head. i was wondering if the torque settings would be different for a au gasket seeing as its made out of steel. if they are different should i use the e series settings or au settings. my guess is settings to match the gasket. so what are your thoughts? thought id better ask before i end up over torqueing a headbolt in a alloy head

got specs . the lady at crow love these cams. said she had one in her ea. pointed out it was a dodgy stamping on those cams. its actually 825 and as i looked at it harder i could see that. it sounds perfect for the job. from the way how they described it. sorry if the info sounds a bit messy but you should get what im saying hopefully. i was quickly jotting it down while she was saying the specs. said it should be fine with xr6 springs and the gear its allready got. as i have xr head measured 75 196 inlet + exhaust, advertized duration 264 inlet + exhaust lifter 489 lobe seperation 113

g'day i just bought a nice 2nd hand cam. but i am having trouble indentifying what it is. the parts number on it is crow 325 208d. also has these numbers down the side 94 da 62 50 ab. and down the other side W qq qq qq. any idea on what it is im having trouble finding any info about it?
-
ah ok. ill keep that in mind if i cant get info off crow.
-
man mate and i looked through the cams and the number doesn't seem to exist. not even in custom grinds, i am aware of 94da being a ford thing just threw it up to help identify. as didn't know what the 62 50 ab bit meant after the 94 da. im at the point might shim the rockers to suit and then just throw it in see what it does. hopefully it will go faster hahah

G'day all as some of you might know im getting into doing a carbied 4.0l I was actually wondering if anyones heard of the trick where you get a xf dizzy and turn the cog around. to make it fit a 4.0l does anyone know of this or can confirm it please. it would make life a bit easier or recommend any good ideas of what to do?

outback jack. yes i was going to save for the aussiespeed one. since standard ford ones dont fit under their manifold. but had not had any issues with the dizzy i have. this is why i was saying get them done properly. and pointed out a dude that knew how to do it properly. was not stating that it was just a easy turn of the gear and your done. and now i have been running it for a while. and no shavings or anything so far. xfute. i do not know with that start to finish stuff. seen it on a couple dizzy's. i just put it on tdc and have the rotor button pointing to no 1 spark lead. no issues

WARNING Please Read! CHEAP PARTS = DANGER
dizzy616 replied to SPArKy_Dave's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
and dont forget they have still been selling them. as i totally forgot about the thread. and bought off the same mob. had the threads shear on 1 while i was parking it luckily enough. and i cut them in half for dean and they where slightly thicker. but still hollow in a point where the thread starts -
i love the log manifold. apart from its a bastard to work around. and not that i have tried a bbm on my engine yet.
-
nah its in the car sorry. got no pictures and got a bloody log manifold. hahha it gos bloody well pretty good on gas. economy ranging from 13-14l per 100k's with the 5 spd. im loving the conversion now. but yeh if you take your dizzy to ignition torque in bayswater. he knows what to do. i got my dizzy reco'd basicly. and the lip machined and cog put in right spot for 120. next day pick up. thing works a dream. after the discovery of the lip grinding and metal shavings. and gazza's story. i say it isn't something you want to stuff up. id prefer to see comparison of whats been done in person before you tackle it your self. between stock and the modified dizzy. wouldn't be much to see on picture. just look like a 4.0l cog turned upside down on a xf dizzy. im all in for having a go yourself. but yeh its something thats a fine line between perfect and broke. dont want to put the dizzy in do a trip around the block. and get back and find shavings all through your sump. the only reason i found out so early. was because i stuffed up the timing and had to move the dizzy again

id drive another 10,000k's on that ball joint. i am serious if this was me 4-5 years ago. i most likely would have lol though i am not condoning such activity -
i redone the dizzy. original dizzy a part of the lip was getting ground by the cog in the engine block. so took a different dizzy into a ignition shop. got the lip machined and the gear put in the right spot and no problems so far.

88 EA T5 Xmember the same as 88 XF T5 Xmember?
dizzy616 replied to XFute-1JZsoarer's topic in Transmission and Differential
just because xg is basicly a revised xf. doesn't mean everythings going to fit but most things will. still find it strange how ea fits and xg dont. but considering same engine and combinations. learn something new everyday. -

sorry to relive a old post. but also if your using the aussiespeed carby manifold. keep in mind if you want to use xd-xe-xf distributer you will run into clearance issues with the manifold and distributor. so you willl have to use a aussiespeed dizzy. this is if you want to run a old style dizzy like a xe dizzy and run a centrepoint manifold or log manifold, bbm manifold with a gas ring and plug up the fuel injector holes. but make sure you get the bottom lip of your dizzy machined. and put a 4.0l cog on it upside down in the right place. i ended up sending my dizzy. into ignition torque bayswater the dude there knows what his doing with the dizzys. if you do it wrong you will end up with a heap of metal filings in your oil. then make your own bracket to hold the dizzy in place aswell hope i make sense. my eyesights a bit blurry atm.

Ball joints for Xf genuine ford or aftermarket?
dizzy616 replied to mattymc's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
wasp are cheap but their allright haven't had a problem with them. stay away from suzukisupers shit on ebay too -
just brake the seal and then re seal it when your done. chuck a rebuild kit through the carby you will find a stuck pin or something gunked up in there. make sure you wet up the carby atleast once a month if you want to keep it running on petrol afterwards.
