injection systems cost alot more than the throttle body if you have the money but why not it would be cool and get better economy. and probably go better

    diy gas conversion?

hey guys. i was just wondering is it safe to do a gas conversion your self? i have the full working running gas setup in my xe. i was wondering if it is safe to pull off bit by bit and just copy it all as i go? of course ill be getting new hoses. and ill be putting pressure into the lines. and spraying them with a bit of soapy water and see if it bubbles. also if you guys reckon its safe. if i can i have a go at doing this. my mate said that i should tune it into the petrol set up? or should i advance the timing a bit? and how much should it be advanced to? ive came up with bit of a issue. like people have quoted me $2000-2500. if it really should cost that much id much prefer to have a go my self. or simply save up and buy another car with gas all ready installed. what do you guys reckon?

    diy gas conversion?

the ute i bought today has a diy gas conversion on it and the gas fitter marked it off. it seems like it can be done. one of the cleanest conversions i seen compared to my old ute which was done professionally and had lines going everywhere. the gas conversion joint still got paid in the end for the compliance plate

    replacing front brakes...

easy as wheel off. one bolt out then. slide the caliper upwards. or downwards depends on which bolt you have taken out. then push the caliper off. and replace the pads in the seats. then use a clamp to tighten the piston on the caliper up. from the gap in the top and put the caliper back on partially and then release the clamp and then push the caliper down the rest of the way. and bolt it up

still got problems with the xf

hmm i replaced the ignition module with a brand new one today. still yet to take it out for a good drive to see if it worked. i might chase up a fuel pump if it doesn't work. lucky with the ignition module. dude said no returns on electrical components and i replaced it in their driveway. the first module did not work he came out because he heard it trying to fire up. saw the ford manual i had out looked over it. and then told me he will get another module from inside put that one in and it fired straight away. i suppose he saw that i was doing the job right and the module was faulty. no charge on the second module

still got problems with the xf

it seems everything ive done has only extended the period of time till my problem has come back it surges and stalls after a hour of driving. i can wait a bit for it to cool down and then it will fire up. now ive got the timing spot on tuned the carby properly got rid of a voltage drop issue to the starter motor changed the coil cleaned petrol system who has got a clue what is doing this? im going to try swapping the distributer next see if that helps

Gas aint gas or is it?

also gas from elgas and supergas is usually cheaper

Gas aint gas or is it?

propane is should be 100 octane. gas cars love it. got a bit more smoother feeling and poke from my old xf ute filling her up on it

    Cheap Auto paint

would look nice on a xf dude. sure beats the sky blue
  21. yeh i just have a crack at installing those sort of things myself their not that hard and a multimeter helps. or test light
  22. man i lived in some pretty dodgy areas so im real paranoid about my stuff that paranoid i dont even buy much expensive stuff. or if so i dont leave it in sight
  23. i kept the stock radio. disconnected it. ran all the wires underneath the center console. and ockey strapped a head unit underneath the drivers seat. Haha atleast the deros of the neighborhood will think the sterio's only stock. Got a boss head unit. kept whatever the front doors got in em. scored a cheap fusion suby and some decent 'shit' poineer speakers for the back. and a 2 way fusion amp to run the 12'' sub. sounds pretty bass'y. it actually sounds allright blaring my metal and hip hop. mates reckoned that the last time they heard drums like that was a live drum kit. ohyeh dont put the suby facing the boot get horrible boot rattle.
