  1. My Gemini has round Hella 140, they are impressive.

what are your headlights condition like.. good ones are amazing(genuine lenses with perfect reflectors)

My headlights are genuine ones and I had the reflectors re- chromed and they have genuine glass in them so I'm really happy with them. Just hoping to be able to see further up the road to spot kangaroos that are becoming a problem in my area.

  2. I had an eBay job light bar about 12". Maybe a great white light bar would make mine look dull but I was too tight to spend the money at the time. I was very impressed with narva's 9" hid lights on a mates hilux a while ago but twin 9" spotties would look ridiculous on my ute

  3. Hi all, I've had a few different types of driving lights on my xf ute and none of them have really impressed me. I prefer them to go further down the road like a pencil beam as my headlights show the edges of the road really well. I tried narva 180/85 rectangle ones and they only lit up the road for about 50 metres, I tried a led light bar and it lit up everywhere for about 50 metres but I would prefer something that lights up for more like 100 metres. I'm running a single relay and 4mm wire to power them so I reckon the wiring is up to the task but I'm not happy with my previous lights. I prefer rectangle ones as they suit the square xf body shape. Does anyone have hella comet 550 lights or night stalker lights on their x series?

  4. Hi all, I'm sick of spending good money on new tyres and having them scrub out after having a dodgy wheel alignment done. I thought my ute was wearing tyres due to some worn suspension parts but after replacing those and getting another alignment they still wear badly. Had the same issue on my wife's Impreza which is only 3 years old. I'm open to suggestions in Victoria of good alignment shops. Would greatly appreciate any help.

  5. Cheers mate, I wondered about trying a tyrepower store as my cousin used to work in one in Gippsland and he said he often had to take extra care to get alignments correct after big tyre shops had stuffed up alignments previously. I'm near Shepparton but would travel to get good results

  6. Interesting reading lads, I'm looking for some recommendations for a decent alignment joint, I need new tyres on the Mrs Impreza. I got 75000 out of original Dunlop tyres and will only get about 40000 out of this set as the beaurepairs alignment has taken the inside off all 4 tyres

  7. So I was time poor tonight and all I could do was try to kink off the hose from the throttle body that goes to the inlet manifold and no change, I lifted the pcv valve out of the rocker cover at idle and it had slightly slowed the idle up a bit. No bloody time to get to eliminate all options due to lack of time. Won't do any more now as I don't want to disrupt the neighbours.

  8. Dont run fresh air port to TB otherwise gas will be drawn into engine. Then it would get interesting

I think the breather hose is going to the idle adjustment screw into the throttle body so hopefully it's ok. Thanks heaps for the help lads, I've got plenty to look at when I finish work this arvo

  9. Not sure if it's a free air or feedback mixer, the port on the throttle body has been plugged but I could check it properly. As for the pcv, I wouldn't have a clue, looks like the original efi one going into the top of the rocker cover at the rear. If the dipstick seal isn't sealing could that affect it?

  10. Hi all, I've recently had my freshly built crossflow put onto impco straight gas but it's too lean at idle. I put a 225 mixer onto an efi throttle body and manifold which makes pretty good power from 1500rpm onwards but it runs really rough at idle and the local mechanic said its running very lean only at idle. He said the mixtures were great during normal driving but couldn't improve it at idle. I tried putting a balance pipe between the atmosphere breather on the new impco model L converter and the clean air side of the mixer but as soon as I tried to accelerate the engine would stall. Will post some photos tomorrow. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  11. Cheers Sly, I reckon someone had told me that a while ago. I liked it because it's had a lot of work done to improve flow, looks like the valves are standard size but all valves, springs, seats and collets look new. It's only done 2000km before the cam gear and dizzy gear got chewed up. I thought maybe a high volume oil pump and poor run in procedure might have done it.
