  1. I would put a modified stock manifold in front of that, the air/fuel would shear off the short turns into the runners something cronic. But like the other guys have said, you got it so you may as well try it.

  2. I also agree with stock oil pump, the race engines I built run the same "big" clearance as Ando and the stock pump has plenty of pressure. Ando will give you the measurements for the relief valve, I also do the clearances inside the pump, I run 1.5 thou cover to rotor clearance, that had Ando worried hahaha but all good in the hood.

  3. Good explanation Stumper, I'm pretty stoked too! Just hoping this newfound efficiency shows at the petrol pump... It's been a shocker lately: about 20l/100km

Good to hear mate and great to see others have a go with positive results

  4. No worries Gerg, I have one word for you that explains the down size in fuel jet, EFFICIENCY!! Your carb is now more efficient and your engine requires less fuel to make the same power, the booster signal will be cleaner etc etc. this is why when people say that if you have more airflow you have to add more fuel but it isn't always the case, an efficient motor will use less fuel for more power and that's in the forefront of my mind when I do my little experiments.

  5. Still thinking about the last meet, these guys are pushing there cars so hard, the amount of mechanical carnage every race is unreal, half the field comes in with blown gaskets and radiators boiling, one of the blokes car caught on fire in the final after leads melted and set the powersteeri game fluid that was going everywhere on fire. Great stuff

  6. Yeah mate still kicking haha, I have to do a metering plate for the carb, I used the one Wolfy had modified over East but it's not right, the idle mixture is all over the place, plus I have a few more developments to get done and she will be faster again

  7. 3 manifolds would be needed, using cylinder runners 3 & 4 like suggested above, the first manifold you would have to cut off 1,2,5 and 6 but leaving the mounting flange behind to weld the other runners to so to keep the correct bolt pattern for the head then weld the other 3 & 4 sections on and join the middle sections together and block off the ends, sounds simple but would be a heap of work and would cost $$$ to get done properly.

  8. Cheers Ando, the only problem with this "race team" is that Wolfy owns the local wreckers so the car is put together with wrecker parts lol so yeah 25 spline axels, some sort of ribbed belt setup on the front hahaha, the guy is a great bloke but he won't spend money if he has something in the junk pile ☺️

  9. Hard to tell mate, the track was fast and the racing aggressive/messy. When you look at my laps the street stocks are lapping faster than the production cars, there are 6 driver/car combinations here in Albany that are top 10 state competitors so we are still slightly behind them but not being left behind either, sometimes I get frustrated but then I have to remind myself that we are racing the best down here meet after meet so at least we know how we are really going.

  10. Yeah mate and she has more to give, he wasn't even pushing it, Wolfy said he didn't give it more than 70% throttle as he is still getting used to it. When you listen to the vid the other drivers are flogging theirs and the old boy is hardly on it hahaha. The blue car in front and the White one that came third (Wolfy ran second in that race and right up the arse of the blue one) they both are BIG $$$ cars from Perth that came down to have a run because the state titles are at the Albany track this year and the XF ran with them no worries and faster down the straights than both of them, the XF actually posted the fastest lap time in that race, Wolfy just isn't stringing enough of them together yet to be dominant.

Anyway the night went like this, heat 1 the car didn't make it out as it snapped an axel in the pits lol so heat 2 is the vid above and ran 2nd, heat 3 he ran 3rd behind the 2 Perth cars, he got back in the pits and said it was loosing power in the corners, found the reason, his pit crew were too busy celebrating how the car went in the last heat they didn't put any fuel in it so the car was sucking air in the corners hahaha I try to make my engines efficient but they can't run on air alone
