Thanks Rev, I will grab the manifold as well then mate, I will pm you my details and if you tell me the postage cost I will put the money in your account tommorow if you send me your details. Cheers

I might have a stab at building my own maybe, I haven't built an auto box before, what's the worst that can happen hahahaha
-
What's the approximate cost of a decent C4, 1000hp is well above anything I would be playing with.
-
Great photos with the missus Tim. Very tidy car. Your welcome mate with the plates, I'm happy someone bought them that I knew and appreciated them.
-
Either way I will grab the carbs and if it's an alloy head manifold I may as well grab that as well so I can flow test it and share the results.
-
That's cool mate, the easiest way to tell is on port number 2 if it has 1 bolt hole on the top and 1 bolt hole on the bottom then it's an alloy head mani, if it has 1 bolt hole at the top and 2 bolt holes at the bottom with a water port between them then it's a cast head mani.

Is the manifold for alloy head Rev?
-
No worries, I just sent Revhead a pm and we can go from there, will let you know what's going on.
-
It will depend on the list number, no more than $100. Will have to see what condition the carbs are in before I can say 100%
-
Yeah Squid I'm happy with that, I'm in WA so don't know how you want to work it out, maybe I'll pay Rev the $50 plus postage and get them to me and then I can send you 1 just for postage cost?? I have a kit here that I could put through one for you for a good price, up to you mate.

Lucky, I have to do my own!!
-
That would be good, I'm interested in them if the other bloke dosen't want them.

^^^^i have also done this a long time ago with a little supercharger on a crossflow. As mentioned above I also filled the float and used a 1 to 1 rising rate reg, the only thing I did different was enclose the whole carb in a box not just plumb the piping to the top of the carb. I also had trouble tuning it, was good at WOT but crap everywhere else. -
Like others have said you need to turn it over before putting it in. Put oil in it, drop some oil down the plug holes and most important pull the dizzy out and prime the oil pump for the bearings. Leave the plugs out while you turn it over manually via a breaker bar on the balancer bolt.
-
Go the 350, much easier to tune in my opinion. Gas will fuck any carby you run, at least a 350 you should be able to put a kit through yourself for about $70
-
I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that it will perform better, I think you will get a more user friendly tune into her.
-
Fair call hahahaha
-
She will be harder to start because of the locked timing, if it becomes a problem I think you can get a retarding module just for startup.

Every time I see these pics I spew about selling my corty (and my plates lol) maybe one day I will roll in another, when are you 2 bums cruising down to Albany?
-
That's some grunt, the way it lifts the rear left would be scary on the track, she would go hard right into the wall lol. I've seen another FG going into a corty, I wonder how that's coming along
