  1. ive had custom seats done before for xk-xf in utes seds and wags for the conversion. it can be done and any interior place will do it for you, may cost a few mangoes but never the less, if its something that you need, youll pay. i wish i had all my photos but i the last one i got done was a XM surf wagon that we converted to ed 5L T5 but he wanted to keep the original interior (except dash gauges) so the bench seat had to stay. was a few years ago but point is, can be done!

  2. i think they would have a completely different computer maybe? as i said, i dont know, just what ive been told.

ive had a few over time and never had to replace anything and the mrs has a egas bf at the moment and its fine but it is hitting that time when these sort of things are coming up (190k) and we are replacing things as we go. they are good cars and cheap being the element of gas.

  3. Didnt know you could buy the converters off ebay but i know now but the point is still there i guess, you cant just put any converter, it has to be a specific one for the car. some people dont mind, some people do.

I know you can buy the VDO updates but also, something to look out for. All things are repairable, just stupid ideas that should not have got put on the car in the first place.

ECU wise, i could be wrong but i have been told no tuning on the egas, none at all. the tune is set buy ford on the line and thats that. not even a gas man can tune it and ive been told even ford garages cant either, but thats i have been told buy a couple of mechanics and a gas bloke, but they may be blowing gas out their bum!

  4. Well if you can, go dual fuel, try and stay the 'F' away from gas only b series.

The gas system is all tied into the main ecu and can not, CAN NOT be tuned. If the converter goes, you can NOT just slap any ol mixer in, you must put a Ford one in it, which unless you are lucky and second hand one works, you have to buy new from Ford. The gas gauges are a huge common problem in b series, which you can counter act by using the trip meter and reset everytime you fill up but you have to factor in any idling you do at home, or in traffic because ya stuffed if you run out of gas.

Alot of fragile parts on the motor on the Gas only set ups.

    Just a view.

  5. Just a question, although its gonna be a b***h anyway,

AU Fairmont Ghia 5L. If you press the traction control button, or generally anywhere, really give it a boot, the traction control seems to playing up. It'll come on, flash the symbol on the dash but the car will just go to sh*t. it will lump and lump like its either flooded or about to be out of fuel, that lumpy going to die type of motion. but once to take your foot off, and slow down, it'll go off and the car is fine again.

So the question is, what does it come down too? Not big on knowledge with traction control, let alone of it on AU's.

Car drives fine otherwise and no other problems, just when you kick the c**t in the guts, traction control kicks on and it just dies out.

SO, im thinking TC Computer, do they have their own separate one away from the main computer?

    Anyone had this issue before?

  6. you wont be able to do just the cluster. it wont fit in the xf mould. you will either need to graft the xde cluster hole into the xf dash, or change whole dash. the xde cluster is bigger then xf cluster. also the levers are different for the lights etc, as the xde have the headlight switch on the bottom right corner of the surround, where the xf has the paddles on the top sides, headlight namely being the top right.

  7. yeah will start on it tomorrow as the 250 just blew a P/S line and pissed fluid all over my driveway and down the road so pulling it down now.

FFS! Well again, it had been sitting awhile, guess it got brittle over that time.

As everyone has said, make sure to take lots of photos. What colour you painting it?
