  1. Doesn't pressure washing, just push the dirt through the material, and into the foam?

I pressure wash car carpet..... works well,

and use my mums cleaner/extractor machine for cleaning the upholstery and the carpet too.

This is just from cleaning the drivers side footwell carpet, with the extractor machine.

    Looks great Dave.

  2. do the vents make a lot of diffrence nick? i have thort about it as i have to repaint the bonnet now anyway

As slydog stated and agree with his comments, they do make a difference as hot air rises heat can escape plus the positive with having vents and proven that it increases air induction aswell.

You have two options, with mounting vents above turbo as my DJGPT has 1 long bonnet vent above the turbo but still has heated my paint on the front right guard or you you can have the other option of 2 bonnet vents like the AIT cars had.

I can post pictures of the 2 different styles if this helps, I highly recommended if your bonnet needs to be painted I'd invest in the 2 bonnet vents.

  3. Hi CRU571XR8,

The colour code for Charcoal is V, make sure you ask your paint supplier it's for the the colour code of the 1982 V Charcoal Colour Code in Ford XE.

The Ford XF V charcoal colour is of a darker colour to that used in the Ford XE models.

There is no colour code for the Gold Snowflakes, hope this helps.

  4. Are your cars running duel fuel?

My neighbour today had trouble starting there falcon (I'm the mechanic for the street), told them to start the car on petrol as LPG will freeze up with cold weather.

Started straight away on petrol as it was -1 where I am this morning.

Gas isn't good when its cold but I'm all ears for info.

  5. Nope, the cops dont get too picky with panels, XC front on XB etc, but, engines and suspension, they're real hot on.

Can get defected here for not having tyre placard in door jamb, windscreen squirters not working or non standard engine bits. Holleys/Air Horns/ Harnesses and such.

You know,...the stuff that makes your car SAFER !  Racing seats, Harnesses, bigger brakes, low profile tyres...........

But, Granny Ethel can drive her 180B down the road with the front guard flaping in the breeze, and rust holes in the boot, so big, you can see the back seat. But at least it's standard.

Granny state it is and you've hit the nail on the head, couldn't have said it any better.

Hopefully mcfly94 does his home work.

  6. SA GREAT was the best logo why change it to the silly door .!?!?!?!

I know SA laws are very tuff when it comes to modifications as I remember got pulled over in the XD I had 24 hours to change back to my original steering wheel (had a mono steering wheel) an had chrome strut towers instead of the original black ones. I didn't argue as I was more shocked but i looked into it and law states this. :(
If your planning on putting a V8 in the XF go to Regency ask the questions to one of the guys there and they will tell you the what options are and do's for this conversion for it to be legal.

  7. Hi Thanos,

These eBay adds are like an impulse buy for someone who wants to buy an easy optioned motor.

I have done it myself and I would not recommend it to anyone as I bought someone else's (engine build) motor complete with $18k worth of receipts it was too good to be true as it was stated to be a Hydrolic 560HP as It happened to be 500HP solid motor which I ended up parting away as it wasn't a good built engine combo.

My recommendation would be to go and see and an engine builder if your after a 450-500HP motor.

He will ask you want you want from your engine?

Do you want to drag it?

    Do you want a cruiser?

What gearbox and diff gears do you have in your car and what will suit the engine, you have options that you will be able to choose what you want from your combo

These are just some of the questions you will be asked from an engine builder as once you start its something you will think long and hard, it not an easy change over as I've just completed my engine build project after the car has been off the road for 6 years.

This is from my experience, if you have any questions just ask.

    Cheers
