gday trendsetters, I've recently built a windsor based engine with clevo heads for the xa ,all went well with the build and it runs and drive awsome. now for the next problem in a long line of problems, I used a dart block for the build and they come without an engine number. I believe I'm going to need to see an engineer about this ,I've been and spoken to the rta ( service nsw for the kiddies) and it's like banging ya head against a brick wall. any one had to go through this process thanks in advance steve

i'll check in to the police thing ,I'm not getting much joy anywhere else ( stinking government departments) steve

yep I'm happy to stamp it myself but I need some buearocratic dick to tell me what the number is and when they want it. and what size numbers and letter to use. steve

doesnt need to go over the pits ,its a regoed car just an engine change. I never thought about using the chassis number ,I'll ask the engineer. I could use the old engines number but then will run into the same problem when it goes into another car

gday trendsetters my new motor is all but finished being built and now the gearbox delima is about to start, motor is a windsor based dart block with clevo heads hoping for around 700fwhp. I've been in contact with the bloke I'm getting to build a box and he suggested a t400. I'm not against this idea given that they are bullshit strong and the c4 do have limitations I currently run a c4 in my xb it makes around the 550fwhp mark and have had no issues and it still shifts as an auto not a full manualised box the builder I'm using says this one will need to be full manual ,but a t400 can stay as an auto. I'm open to suggestions and advice as I am yet to buy a convertor or tailshaft and exhaust can be massaged if necessary thanks in advance steve

welcome gregaust car will be used 50/50 street/strip and the reason for wanting a box with vacuum is my missus will drive this car and I think she'll have trouble understanding that it has to be shifted manually. I fear the car will be left in d and burn the box out cams not massive and I'm unsure of engine vacuum as it's yet to be run

Yep the motors been a slow process Yep awesome thing can happen with c4s I'd prefer to have auto shift I'm not too concerned with me driving it but my Mrs. Will need to drive occasionally and I'm worried she'll stick it in d and burn the box out I'm hoping gregaust drops in to offer some advice Beauty is only skin deep Ugly goes all the way to the bone

I was asked by my young bloke what was metal flake paint was. Before I answer I probly should have a correct answer I think it's microscopic bits of plastic , I think if it was real metal it would cause rust Anybody got experience in this field . Steve

ta chaise the young fellas pretty switched on ,and I reckon if ya kids cant trust their parent they cant trust anyone. it's only a newish saying but "ya can't bullshit someone that has google" so I told him to go and google it but he wasn't having much luck, but looks like the answer is aluminium in the early years then to plastic when technology took over. thanks for everyones help, now wheres those photos gerg? steve

gee 1000ks is a bit of a fizzer. not sure of many aussie companys maybe camtech http://www.camtechcams.com.au/contacts.html Ive used Malcoms (camtech)stuff before never had a problem. as NZXD said there are hydro rollers available for clevo or windsor , we used on in the xb for a while and it was sweet , it just wasn't the best for reving past 6000rpm steve

as others have said get a good quality one and grab a spare belt ,it suck finding out that your local repco or supercheap doesnt' carry them. don't be tempted to over tighten the belt just for the blower belt sound ,it can fuck you alternator bearings steve
