    XF/ZL EFI 250 questions

After I put my surge tank / second external boot mount pump in my 250, it starts after 1 second be it sitting for one day or 1 week. . With the one pump before it would take 2 to 8 seconds cranking depending how long it sat for. Not a cheap option but made a good difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

really bad takeoff in 1st gear.

People can be very stubborn manual men. I'm one too. Still with reasonable care they can do ok. Just load up the clutch a bit before dumping it goes a long way.

    25 spline axles??

The tailshaft went on mine first so if a manual get the ef tailshaft installed and stronger unis. I have a good tight LSD with 2.92 ratio in a t5 with a turbo 310rwhp crossflow with 255 mt steets. Maybe 40 to 50 runs down the drag strip. More coming Saturday. Good noise when it goes bang My guess the axles are next so when they go they go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rough cost to paint a car

I was quoted $15k for full colour change inc engine bay. I had to take the engine out and they did the rest. No dint or anything as the car is straight as . It's still yellow and staying that way. I bought the car sight unseen and it ended up having a awesome paint job already Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hi Continue on from the other thread. After some ideas for the future to come up a decent plan for the next stage of the build. For now just looking at ideas to improve power from the 3700to 4500 mark. Just to clarify it is 12 months out before I move on it but if there is some checks or ideas to improve higher rpm power without changing exiting I would be interested. Dyno sheet. FYI 295rwhp is at 3200 rpm and hovers in part there until 3700 then goes down. Boost is ramp rate to rpm from 1psi up to 16psi at 4000rpm. Rev limit 5000 Thread here http://www.ozfalcon.com.au/index.php?/topic/3147-yellow-xe-turbo-sedan-crossflow-spac/page-3 Bit of a walk around video It does double up a bit Specks Brand new Garret GT3788R turbo Duel spring valves pac brand Custom exhaust manifold Custom modified ea inlet manifold 42mm waste gate Turbine spacer plate New Bosch high torque starter motor Custom big thick PWR intercooler 450cc fuel injectors x6 Braided oil turbo lines and fittings New head studs, heavy duty New custom radiator mounts Intake / intercooler silicon hoses, fittings, clamps etc Large PWR engine oil cooler Oil cooler Braided lines, fittings etc Over boost safety valve Intake unloader valve 3 inch Stainless exhaust and new muffler. 9. Manual this year. Committed to that already. December will review Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. True. Good sound though. Fkn crack!! I have not revved it hard on launch since. 17 apr I will get on it a bit harder... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Good point. No torque graph. I will chase up and hopefully they have it still. I will ask for the overlay with afr. Tufe, yes correct. T5 was a risk and stock internal. Reliability was critical Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. The revs I estimated were out a bit too. Seems to make good power up to 4250 and hits the limit of something as power drops big time. For a crossflow with big turbo reasonable really Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Dyno sheets below. Seems the afr are where they should be. Maybe the above dyno was done on earlier runs at mvt. Either way seems ok Electronic boost control so no big whammy in the middle. Looks good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Got some info.. Dyno bloke and specialist said all is well. All in the timing. It's correct and set to do what it does and power is where it is supposed to be. No other limiting factors. He says basically seems set to protect the stock engine. I will get the new dyno print outs up soon. It has boost on it too, afr etc. Springs were all tested with even result of 110psi at 48mm at fitted height. In the range and well adequate by crow cams. Oil pressure correct at 45 psi at idle and 70 at 3000rpm so not too high to cause issues. So drags on Friday night on a beat the heat night. Pretty popular those nights. No changes so still mid to low 13s I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Progressing on this. Springs have been measured. I don't have the numbers yet but the mechanic has. Maybe a tad soft he thinks but the details are with crow cams for feedback on what suits the cam. It's Going on the local dyno early this week to do some runs and checks. Got a number of other things done while there like fuel surge tank set up, new drag spec shocks, shift light, tailshaft hoop and few odds and ends. Once I hear more I will update. GPS speedo

From ages ago when I had a ebay shop. Same model on the link below from some ebay place http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/140845272448?nav=SEARCH Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Correct, there are a number of new models and about $100 extra for 3G Something is better than nothing so do what suits. No matter what you do they're is away around it. Just minimise rick, deterants, signs to say there is CCTV, etc. A very budget system is buy a few ir illuminators.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. It was mentioned in the thread to get one going to help people with ideas and precautions Just add as required. Mods of not suitable please remove. Few points. Be wary at car shows on your way home those with the rare ones. Check your google street view of your house Car Trackers movement sensing CCTV with SMS alerts etc, CCTV cameras with proper hd and ups back up incase they drop power to the house Lots of ir illuminators as they are great deterents movement sensing lights, solar/battery back up movement sensing lights. This is a super basic system and links. Just a small deterant and about it. Not hd or facial recognition. Super simple install. http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/301260735051?nav=SEARCH http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/261587506661?nav=SEARCH http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/221688042931?nav=SEARCH http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/390975423209?nav=SEARCH Basic tracker http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/251617852291?nav=SEARCH Heaps of options buying overseas and cheaper. Just search on the usual sites for cheaper
  19. This is a good version of in car camera Not bad at night to. Good PC software, gps etc. ..http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/171237961526?nav=SEARCH Race camera. None better. 5 points per second gps. http://m.aliexpress.com/item/799023725.html?tracelog=storedetail2mobilesitedetail Duel camera with inside and outside in one. I have tested heaps but none really cut the mustard so this is the only one. Can't find the aussie distributer so maybe try direct. Been a few years. . http://www.januscam.com/index.php/products/dual-camera-janus-v2-hd Another good one for cheap home ones. Movement sensing, video for 10 seconds too, mms and not bad night. Well worth it to put above your car. Mms back the photo to your phone. http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/231224547658?nav=SEARCH Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Feedback on this one. I used to have a ebay shop so do know about it. It took too much time and and started working out of town so impossible to post daily so stopped. I had trackers, gps, security, car cameras etc. http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/251617852291?nav=SEARCH SMS tracking old or new phone so it SMS codes for specific Reasons it set off. Just take a small card in your walker what the codes mean. You learn them anyway PC tracking using online software. smartphone online tracking using the above platform. Cost $20 per year Easy install with external gps antenna for good reception Can go the whole hog and connect up doors, lights so this will take some time Not bad to set up all via SMS. You need a SIM card so will have a small fees for a super basic sim or prepaid. You sort that out yourself I will get some details for in car cameras soon. Janus are a good brand with 2 cameras in one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. The car is heading to the shop next week to get some checks done a fuel surge tank. I just don't like the idea of changing to a late model engine. For me that is. Lots cheaper power chucking a barra in I know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I have zero interest in a barra. I could of got a xr6 turbo for less than the xe with all the turbo kit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Melted fuse

If the meter does not work Alternatively use a spade terminal in the fuse power via a 240v decent wattage bulb, bit of wire and the other on the other side of the fuse. Turn on ignition /fan and it will shine bright as. Make sure only a second at a time. Then disconnect the wiring to the fan and try again and see if it glows big time. If not glowing bright as likely the fan/heater stuffed. Replace it and try again. If so the wiring is the fault and you need to start hunting for terminal strips, connectors, burnt wiring etc and work your way back to the fuse panel. Make it very clear when testing strictly on the off straight away or you risk wiring or damage. Don't leave it on and wander around the car pulling wires . Not safe enough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Done. I will get Danny to check next week the valve think you mentioned. . I will let you know. Btw I have no clue what you are talking about with the spring pressure but Danny will and that what matters. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. The valve springs are brand new. First thing I did. Psi double Good top spring quality. Tuner first though and see how we go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
