  1. If you intend to run power steer and AC, I’d keep the front serpentine belt set up on it and use all the AU accessories.

I’d go for the Air Gap manifold too and slap a 600 on it. I’ve got a 650 dp on mine and it rips.

  2. The E303 has a very nice choppy idle, very popular in the US, .498 lift and 220 degrees@.50

Yeah the factory springs aren’t much chop, but you would be fine running the E303, might get some valve float around 6k rpm.

  3. You can buy various timing covers to suit, depends on the application and whether you want to run a mechanical fuel pump.
I have one which can take a crank angle sensor, mechanical fuel pump and standard rotation water pump.
The outlet for the water pump is on the passenger side.
    What is this going into?

  4. Yeah if you do a cam you really need to watch PTV clearance, anything over about .520 lift is getting into dangerous territory. However I know someone with .544 with no issues in a roller 302w with stock P heads and pistons.

  5. yeah 3 or 4 lines,ok so a dizzy is no prob, what about getting rid of the crank trigger thing and buying a 50 oz balancer to suit or goes that stuff just unbolt,i was thinking just normal style pulley set up.

You can get a standard style 50oz balancer easy for them. Sounds like you are doing what I did.

Yes a 302w dizzy drops straight in.

From memory the gt40p heads had 4 lines.

  8. hey i might just buy that nice au ltd engine ,i no for a fact it has only done 90,000km because i saw the car it came in,a mint LTD with a prang in the left front(probly repairable but too expensive for a insurance to fix,i have pictures of it somewhere here on oz falc, only thing i am concerned about is these gt 40p heads, lets say chuck it in a xf what headers do you need ,there is differance between normal 302 and gt40 heads some spark plug angle differance, maybe there is a trick .

The P on gt40p heads stands for plug angle, I originally had gt40p heads on my AU spec 5.0 in my XD, dummy fitted hurricane 4-1 headers and with 90 degree (from memory) spark plug boots it all cleared.

  9. If your radiator is clean and not blocked then I wouldn’t spend more money on another radiator until I’d finished investigating the bypass and thermostat.
