Blue looks good mate. Just need these to top it off; Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’d like a set of these: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For the cost I’d get a new one if you want to do a v belt set up. Plus the AU one is 20 years old. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The other way is to buy an adjustable timing marker then find true TDC and mark the current balancer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the timing cover to suit an old school water pump which has the provisions for the fuel pump. Balancer is a four bolt 50oz, can’t remember the brand but it has survived a number of 6500 pulls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’d put a double roller, I did with mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure mate, I know the AU headers will squeeze into E series as that’s what I did selling them off to a mate with an EB, he also put the gt40p heads on too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yep it’s the same intake manifold for all AU V8 (except the fancy tickford ones fitted to the 5.6) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nothing off the shelf due to the spark plug angle, however I have Hurricane 4 into 1 headers and I had them fitted to GT40p heads, you would need 90 degree spark plug boots from memory to help them from hitting the pipes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Those headers you have won’t even come close getting into an X series, been there and tried haha. If you can find the articles relating to Dick Johnson’s Pine Pac mustangs in the 80s they are a good read on how he managed to get 380hp from the asthmatic 302w back then. Factory AU LTD manifold Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They aren’t factory on an LTD low spec, they came with horrible pinch tight shit manifolds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cleaning up the exhaust side is where you get good gains on these heads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can get four bolt pulleys, I have a set. The issue is that there’s different depth water pumps and balancers, is getting them to line up is a pain. You can get spaces though. That’s why I run a gilmour belt. If I could ever build another Windsor it would be pretty much what I described above. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve seen some really cool builds on the net for the little Windsor, one liked the most was: Dart block 4.125 bore Steel 302 size crank Alloy Cleveland style heads etc Big roller cam Comes out at around 330ci Made just under 800hp on engine dyno. Wasn’t street friendly. Anyone know the bore and stroke and in a Ford 5.0 V8 supercar? I’m thinking the biggest bore possible around 4.185 and a stroke of 2.8 inch or similar??? I know of a made up boss using 2V Cleveland and 302w bottom end in an XY. Runs a toploader and a 9 inch, made 290hp at the wheels at 5500rpm. For the money you would spend on setting up Cleveland heads you could put some Trickflow 11r Windsor heads on the 302w for probably less money and have more power. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just reading about the 302 boss from 1969/70, rated at 290hp at 5200, great advertising by ford to try and pull the wool over the eyes of the muscle car haters and insurance companies back in the day, that motor could spin to 8000. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From the factory they have 155cc intake and flow a tad under 200cfm at .500 lift through a small 1.85 intake valve. Which isn’t too bad really for a little factory Windsor considering a stock 2V Cleveland head flows the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The issue with the gt40p head is that it is good for about 300hp if you bang in a bigger cam and some compression. I did look into building up a set but bang for buck it wasn’t worth it and I went alloy. I have a real liking for the little 302 rollers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I haven’t tried it myself with Cleveland or cross stamped rockers, you can buy bolt on 1.7 rockers to suit the Windsor in either stud or pedestal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Going to a 1.7 ratio rocker will give it slightly more cam lift as it is increasing the ratio from 1.6 The factory cam in the base AU 4.0 is about .444 lift with the 1.6 ratio rocker, by going to the 1.7 ratio will increase the cam lift to roughly .470 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’d look at putting bigger valves in, at least 1.9 intake and 1.6 exhaust. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I used either an MSD or Mallory steel gear with my F303 cam. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No not with a billet steel cam. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The E303 is a good match for the GT40p heads and they run out of flow around .500 lift, not much point having a huge cam and restrictive heads. From memory the 40p head flows about 200cfm at .500 lift. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
