Which leaf are you talking about Ants? The smallest? Cheers

Good work on this, I am finding this really interesting and learning at the same time. Cheers.

Hey, my advice would be to get it degreed, you can't always trust the dot to dot method to be right, the cam could end up retarded or advanced etc. Get it degreed as per cam specs and then you know it's right!

Hey mate, just checked my ford XD repair manual, it states the only XD with the 2.77 was the 351 clev with FMX, with 205/70/14 tyres ran the orange 20 tooth Speedo gear.

I'll have a look in my XD book, it has all the ratios and gear box combos etc

Just what I was looking for, I'm just about to do my heater. Cheers mate.

sounds great, what mufflers/pipes are you using?

Hey guys, Im looking at putting a C4 behind my 302 Windsor, and ditching the single rail (future proofing for my later mods of efi and boost). My question relates to what size stall, as I have read, spoken to and discovered different opinions on what size. The 302 has an F303 HR cam 3000-6500, alloy heads ...... The diff is an XG XR 3.45 ratio in my XD. So with the 1:1 top gear, I estimate at least 2800 rpm at 100km/h. I have been informed the stall should be at least 3000 due to cam coming on at that speed, but then the stall should be lower than open road cruising rpm?? Its going to be more of a toy with the odd long distance cruise. Any info/opinions appreciated.

The cam people said at least 3000.

Ride height looks bloody awesome Rob.

I believe xebruce lives in Southland, at the bottom of NZ. I originally had a 302 clev and put a Crower cam, with 535 odd lift and 220 odd duration from memory, sounded cool and went ok, it was a cheap cam that was available at the time, with only the basic bolt on mods of headers etc. I also had a single rail and 3.27 xg uterus diff. Not sure on the 350hp though, but I'm no clevo tech, I'm a Windsor fan.

Bit of a waste, he is lucky he hit a stationary vehicle and not had a head on and hurt someone.

Great looking cortinas! The Ozzy version of the Mk4 Cortina is much better looking than what NZ received (English version), the grill and front bumper make all the difference.

Can 5.0L injection (of eb/ed/ef/el/au) be fitted to any 302?
NZXD replied to mcfly94's topic in Windsor
So Im guessing my AU Windsor V8 converted to carb and alloy heads powered XD would not pass in this state. -

Yeah Im sure it will eventually happen over this way one day, there was once a big "who hah" over vehicle noise and that cars shouldn't be louder than when original? Don't really hear of any issues now. If you are set on an XF V8, what about putting the front sheet metal onto a factory v8 XE? -

Geez its hard work over your way mate, come to NZ and do what you want to it, as long as safe they will cert it (mod plate) here. -
Good work mate, seems like you have a win there! Can you post up photo of the carb modifications? A potential 150kw at the wheels would make a nice cruiser with some "extra" for fun.

I have the gear out of an AU xr6 btr auto for my single rail as running the 3.45 ratio, the gear is grey and has 22N EA on it. The btr auto has the spline cut the opposite direction to the c4/6 autos.

I think it depends on where you come from, I've always used both words when telling a mate to do a skid or burnout, thats way before and drift stuff was in NZ. I'd say that mustang is doing a power skid.

Strokers will rev, just depends how much money you want to spend. Have a look at the Pavtec site and their 434 Windsor, very expensive but pull 7000+ rpm. They do a 434 complete with a hyd roller cam and 640hp for 16k. You did say 8k in parts alone, I think you would get there, its the machining and prep that soaks up the coin. That XR is tough.

I've been holding back on this, as its originally about hydraulic flat tapet cams, but if viscous are that good, Ford must have got the buget model and used on the earlier cars, such as the EB-ED v8's, Mk 5 Cortina Ghia etc. Ive have a few Fords with these on and every single one has got hot at some point, my ED Sprint had one and it got real hot one day, went to Ford, they put another new one on, and not long later it did the same. EF twin elec fans finally sorted it!

Pretty sure Tyler06's last engine was somewhere around 270rwhp.

That's a bit of a let down for only 1000kms. Is this a Windsor or Cleveland? If it is a Windsor you could consider a hydraulic roller camshaft and lifters, you can get the retro fit kits etc and to a degree you never have to worry about lifter or camshaft wear.
