Wow that pro stock engine hit 10000rpm....cool

I've only got a baby 302 Windsor, but when it came to head choice I was going to recon a the factory set of gt40p heads, which flow pretty average these days at 185cfm, but by the time I priced it all up, I basically had to spend only a few more bucks to get alloys that flow a significant more air/fuel. You won't regret the money being spent.

If it says 4V on the emissions tag, ill bet my left nut it means 4V = 4 venturi = 4 barrel carb. The 302 clevo that came out of my XD had "4V" on the emissions sticker, in the workshop manual, just means 4 barrel carb. I honestly would spend any money on them, the comp with cc on a 351 can get up around 11.1, so on a 393 its got to be 12.1. If you're serious about getting 500+ hp, you need to spend money! So do it right, do it once and get some alloys that will make the numbers straight up.

Standard 2v Cleveland heads flow around the 200cfm at .500. If you're building a serious 393 id be going for a set of alloys.

I think that ba/bf Ute sounded a bit "not to my personal liking". The xy, sounds the ducks nuts, bloody awesome, all comes down to the motor spec, firing order, size etc.... Quick example, I once had an xr8 sprint, had after market exhaust, headers, sounded great, then years later I got an ef xr8, used the same exhaust guy, same diameter, mufflers and headers, sounded shit??? There is only a slight difference in motor spec but it made all the difference. Sometimes it a bit of trial and error, also what it sounds like to you on the inside, is a bit different for the person following you. Unless its farking loud as hell.

I'm in the stages of my exhaust for the xd, thinking 3 inch single as its a 302w.

The sway bar will be fine.

Td/Tc cortina Guages. need some help wiring them ect :S
NZXD replied to RAWDEAL's topic in Auto Electrics
This may sound dumb, but it doesn't run the opposite way to the td cortina? Bit like how a c4 requires a gear with the opposite spline to the four speed auto found in the e series etc? Just a thought. -
Have you got any pictures you can post of your xd?
-
I had a similar cam in a 302 clev too, bit tame for a 351, with the 2v cc heads. But the diff gears will make up for it. With the diff gears and the c4, should see 2800rpm at highway speeds.

Will X series calipers fit an E series diff?
NZXD replied to XES's topic in Transmission and Differential
Has anyone fitted the ea-eb/xg rear disk set up to an xw Borg diff? -
Yeah that could be the issue. I'd source a xr8 flywheel and clutch kit, all sorted.
-
You will find that the 50oz flywheel will require the 10.5 inch clutch, but I'm sure the .5 of an inch won't matter.

My lack of attention to detail.

Msd also make a real good product in the efi, check them out.

Are you yelling at me rev (capitals) haha.

I think he's running a carb, and seen the 302 is stock the std lines will be ok. Plus he previously ran a 351, so lines would be up to the task.
-
The clevo 164 will be the 11 inch, the 157 takes the 10.5 inch or that's what I have.
-
Same as my single rail, so you could use any eb-au v8 clutch kit and flywheel. The one I got is for a 94 mustang.
-
Should work out then. What spline is the gearbox shaft that the clutch sits on?
-
I've only ever seen the 157 tooth 50oz flywheels. You can use a clevo starter, as long as it suits a flywheel not flex plate,, something to do with the gear extending out further for the flywheel? What gear box are you using? T5, single rail or top loader? I got my flywheel and clutch from summit racing, all mustang stuff.

Hey, I have used the rare spares rear seal, just last month. The fit is good, but I got the pros to do it as the front was getting done at the same time. Sealant was used as the glass guy said it would leak.

I found this 302 Cleveland forsale where the owner uses a desktop dyno to estimate the hp. I found the same programme on comp cams website, I'm sure its not that accurate. Here is the advert for the clevo https://touch.trademe.co.nz/listing/view/676702965 I would be very cautious of the hp level as quoted, I highly doubt it would produce the numbers.
-
I suppose if you take 10% off it would be within range.
-
I put my 302 Windsor specs into the same calculator, I found a similar cam, I have alloy heads and 10:1 comp, said 420hp, I'm like nah that's not right.
