    single rail 6 to 8cyl

I used an alloy one from one of the GT shops, has the top loader and single rail bolt patterns and is quite light. No fitment issues to date. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    single rail 6 to 8cyl

I believe I have the short ratio in 1st in my XD, not that I have driven it much but when I have it's not issue, the lumpy Windsor just chugs off the line with ease. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    15x6 wheel what tyre?

I have that size on the front, 205/60/15. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Afternoon (nz time), I have two E series drive shafts that I can use in my XD. One is steel from an EF, and the second is alloy from a EB Fairmont Ghia V8. There are so many arguments on the net as to which one is the best, regarding strength and then the speed limits. I have a drive shaft loop fitted just to be sure. Any pointers or recommendations?

    engine number

Sorry I can't help as in the Territory, I asked at MVR here about my AU Windsor block in my XD, the only question I got asked by the people was "is it stolen?" I'm not sure whether what to do, as I said to them no it isn't, but the engine number is from an AU, chassis is XD....they said to me what's the issue??? Fark knows. I just worry I'll import the car and roll up and they will have changed their minds...being the Territory and all.
  9. I'm waiting for my OS formula mesh to arrive, 17x10 and 17x 8. In saying that, the 17 inch b45 reps look ok.

302 flat tap vs 302 roller engine

I have read all that too, I think it depends on the tune, latest rule of thumb is 500rwhp is the limit of the block and 6500rpm. One of the turbo tuning pages on Facebook here in Oz is putting out more than 500rwhp on stock blocks with blow through set ups. I think if you were serious about HP you would splash out a few $$ to get a dart block.

302 flat tap vs 302 roller engine

I'm a fan of the roller motor, easy to get parts for etc. The only issue for me in that motor is that it's likely to have the E7 heads which are very limited in performance, but if you are just looking for a reliable cruiser that can still rip a skid it would be fine. The yanks can usually get 260-270hp out of a stock 5.0 which a carb and tuning.

302 flat tap vs 302 roller engine

The gilmor drives have gone, and have purchased a nice V belt set up, I just couldn't get it to stop throwing the belt high up and worried too much. Yeah I just got all the bits. I did find this on eBay AU for a little more. The extra $700 is worth it for the manifold, timing cover, water pump etc.

302 flat tap vs 302 roller engine

So what I did was buy timing cover, fuel pump eccentric, timing chain, water pump and fuel pump all to suit the older Windsor.

302 flat tap vs 302 roller engine

I have a roller motor that has been converted to carb and has mechanical pump, it's all easy to do, just have to source all the bits.

    Electric or mechanical fuel pump?

302 flat tap vs 302 roller engine

How are you going to set the front of the engine up and are you running a carb or efi? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Holley Street Demon 1901

Good work, be good to see it sorted and the results posted, then anybody else getting one has a good starting point.
  20. Yeah I know about the differences in input sides etc. the other issue is whether the gear inside the box has 7 or 8 teeth. From what I have read, an FMX with 3.23 (close to 3.27) ran a 21t, with an internal gear of 8 teeth. 10km out would annoy the shit out of me too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Are you sure the rear end is 3.27? The reason I ask is like I said above, the 22 tooth with 3:45 is 99%, and that's what ford put in the factory XRs etc. I've tested mine with a GPS and on a speed radar, at 50 on the gps the speedo was just under the line, and at 100km the speedo was around 97km. I just checked an old thread and my gear is a grey 22N gear.
  22. A 21 tooth would suit perfectly.
  23. What diff ratio do you currently have? I have 3:45 diff, 1:1 top gear ratio in the gear box (same as FMX), and the 22 tooth drive and that is spot on.

EBAY 140 amp alternators for XF

My XD has a standard rebuilt 55amp alternator on it, I have always wondered if I should have upgraded it. I have next to no electrics in the car, just stock radio, heater fans, and I added the 16inch radiator fan. Anyone see an issue?

    75mm MAF for Windsor

I've had it a while, just incase I converted to efi, but there's so many aftermarket fuel systems that are easier to set up.
