Hi Was just wondering plan to buy a ed sedan for a project/weekend car and may drop a 5l into it or will be adding the fairmont features or both. want to ask following incase a ed fairmont full harness or ed fairmont/nc fairlane 5l full harness can’t be found. 1. can a el fairmont/nl fairlane harness be made to fit the earlier e series dash with a few mods by checking diagrams out and soldering new plugs on to get the earlier e series cluster/climate control/trip computer working. 2. Can the later e series electric cruise control be made to work with the ea-ed steering wheel and ifso what do you need to do to make it work. 3. Could the power and economy switch in the early e series be made to work in direction it would have with original early e series harness and ecu. guess if you use the el harness with ed ecu that the switch wouldn’t get reversed. 4. Could the ed climate control panel and sensors be made to work with the el harness with a few mods, the trip computer and cluster could easily be made to work by soldering new plugs and running a wire to temp sensor same with tail lights. thanks for any help

Hi Was just wondering if the 1997 nl fairlane concorde front seats are electric or is it only the nl fairlane ghia concorde that has electric front seats. Seen fairlane concorde but not sure if it’s only the ghia concorde that has the electric seats or wether both std concorde and ghia concorde have them Do know the concorde has the xr6 engine Thanks

Hi just wondering wether the nl 1997 fairlane ghia has a distributor/single coil or a coil pack and is the thermo fans a 3 relay or a 4 relay setup thanks

hiwill a au 1/2/3 brake master cylinder fit a ef/el brake booster and will the ef/el brake lines fit and connect to the au 1/2/3 master cylinder with no mods.also will a au 1/2/3 brake booster/master cylinder fit a ea-el as a whole unitwill a ef2/el abs module/pump fit a ef1 and also will a au abs module/pump fit a ef/el where the old one was and will the lines go in also just wondered would a el steering rack bolt into a ef k frame and connect to the ef upright/stub axles and would it work in a ef if you used a el intermediate shaftwould a ef high pressure hose fit the el steering rack and would you need a el steering column or will the ef one be okthanks

hi if youre not likely to have the ef much longer, can you just change the oil and leave the filter for now and keep running it to rinse the old oil and if you still got it in a few months then change the oil and filter or swap the engine and put new oil and filter in it thanks

what happens if you leave the filter this time and do another oil change in a couple months if you still got the ef then do oil and filter or swap engine and put fresh oil and filter then

can you get away with not doing filter this time and do it next time if you still got the car in a few months

HiJust a question If we keep the ef atleast for longer before going back to ed wish to use the log manifold if possible on the ef when getting engine fixed as prefer the log manifold as the heater hoses seem easier to get to and was thinking of using the xh ute ecu out of a log manifold model as it’s the ef vintage or newer and ecu system should be model of car or newer for emissions standardsSo had a thought of using following and wondered if it’s a problem as the xh log manifold ute is a ef/el with log manifold Xh ute log manifold ecuEd/xh ute log manifold (which is same between the 2)El fairmont engine bay wiring and dash wiring Would the above combo be ok as when people convert to bbm in ea-ed they use a el ecu and just plug it into the ea-ed wiring and the ea-ed & el/xh have same plug.

hi hope to buy another good ed this year sometime and if you can only find a mid level that has abs and cruise control is the wiring in the main body harness there for power windows. if the ed or eb2 has cruise control and abs does only the door wiring need swapping for power window conversion, and can that particular car have one or the other or does it have to have both cruise control and abs. with climate control conversion and the fairmont bcm if you fit them to a mid level with cruise control and abs does the engine bay have the wires for the fairmont stuff and you only plug the dash harness and sensors in is that right thanks

Hi if someone was to buy a series 1 eb which has seperate transmission control and wanted the later ecu with built in transmission control, how would they get it to work? have read you just cut the wires to the transmission control and just run it to the ecu and connect it as it would be in the eb2 on. could you just get a engine bay ecu harness out a eb2 ed and split the transmission wires and add it to the eb1 harness and unplug the transmission harness if it’s same as the eb2 and plug it into the added new transmission wiring. is the small harness that goes on transmission same between eb1 and eb2. With abs is there a way to add it to a eb1 and ifso what you need? Think you need the pump, pipes, sensors and lines and wiring and seperate ecu if you get eb2/ed setup also wanted to ask if the eb1 fairmont has cruise control but no power windows is the wires already there in the floor harness and only door wiring need doing? Or do you have to add lot? will the eb2/ed fairmont or late nc fairlane door wiring plug into the eb1 floor wiring. also with the climate control and trip computer buttons being grey will the eb2 trip computer work on a eb1 and will the climate control panel from a eb2 or ed cfc free work on a eb1? Have seen eb2 climate control panels without cfc free writing being used in a eb1 if anyone’s got pictures of it all that’d be great what would you need to convert to a 4.0 if it’s a 6cyl from the 3.9. And will eb2 ac lines work on a eb1 thanks
