you dont live far from me apparently Hendrixhc so sorry if your car has no power steering in the morning
-
yeah the line i have bolts to the engine mount and goes across to the box from underneath. but if i plug it into the pump it hits the headers so need to bend the pipe down or something to give it clearance. ill be heat wraping the headers anyway but still good to have it out of the way

all good found it, was playing with the wrong relay, not even sure what the one i was playing with does as it just pluged into itself down the loom. plugged the signal wire that was on the relay onto the 351 remote solenoid and she cranked over. so thats pretty much all the electrics done. ill do the exhaust and fuel lines tomorrow then hopfully she will fire up

Hey guys I have 2 FD ltds one is a efi250 one is a 351 clevo. Going to take 351 and box out and put in the other car. Both cars are running is there anything that i need to watch for? do i have to swap the diffs they are both 2.77. do i have to swap the fuel tank? as one is a efi pump one is the small pick up unit. is the loom from the ignition similar or shall i just swap over the whole wiring system. Is the cluster different? is the k frame different. not sure if the FD even has one. Going to start taking the 351 out more than likely tomorrow. will take a million pics so i have a idea on where is all goes back. any tips would be great

has anyone got a diagram of the 351 ignition system and the efi 250 ignition system. using the relay from the efi 250 to start the 351 it clicks but does not send power to the starter

hey guys thought i would jump in on this. Im putting a 351 clevo in a 83ltd that had a efi250 and im trying to work out what to do with the power steering. both the lines in the 351 and the 250 are split so need a new one regardless. but i have two different pumps. the plastic backing one from the clevo and the steel one from the 250. i want to use the 250's pump as its a better design than the plastic one but trying to work out what line to use. If i keep the 250's line then it sits on the headers and will cause issue's but the v8 power steering line has a bend in it and does not look like it will fit in the steel pump. Those who are using the steel pump can you please advise what line you are using and some pics of it would be great Thanks in advance

i wont be painting the outside of the car yet, save that for when i have the cash to do it the right way. it will be a pearl white when i do paint the outside tho
-
thinking just another coat of white, i have thought about a black bay tho. yeah the line has split next to the steel cover on it. ahwell have to get a new line for the 351 anyway but was kinda hoping to see if i could use that one to save myself $109
-
yeah will start on it tomorrow as the 250 just blew a P/S line and pissed fluid all over my driveway and down the road so pulling it down now.
-
cheers sent them a email they rekon $81 posted for the unit will do it after iv put my 351 in

Hey guys have a FD LTD want to hook the LPG sender to the stock indash guage. Need to know what Ohms the sender runs on Found AU is 2-176 EA to EL is 2-220 but cant find anything on the x series

just rang regency again and they said that must have a min of 286x24 rear vented dics to clear for a 351 conversion in a 83. other than that nothing just a MR7 engine change form at motor reg and done
-
i would love to just fix up the 82 as it is all matching 351/FMX numbers, but the floor pan is gone the underside of the car is full of rust, if you jack it up you cant close the doors due to it twisting. the interior is a mess, everypanel needs replacing, would love to have a matching 351 but i have no want to sell it so im not bothered about resell value. already spoken to regency they said just to provide the engine number and the rego will go up a few bux, as its still a FD i can do it, if it was a FE then could not ill be pulling the 83 down to a bare engine bay as want to give it a paint first before the 351 goes in.

also is the tail shaft the same length?

Hey guys I have a 03 ba xt 218,000km it has always ran fine, anyway I had I parked out the front and did not start it for about a week, when I went to drive it today it took about ten mins to start, it sounded a little strange and when it fired up it ran like a dog for about five mins, misfiring hunting for idle, I turned it off after it warmed up and checked the oil and it was almost bone dry, no leaks found anywhere nothing on the drive way, nothing in coolant tank, and no steam or anything from the exhaust. I only serviced it 800km ago so cant see where near 6 litres of oil has gone in that time. Any ideas?? sent from mobile

hey guys just wondering what the benifit would be between high and low rise manifolds i see that the high rise ones are about three times the price so guessing they must be better. im running a stock 351c and looking at going gas research twin system so looking for a manifold with no egr just not sure what is the best low or high. im not taking it to the drags or anything just want a cruiser that will light up when i ask it to

Hey guys wanting get new chrome for the bumper on my FD. any ideas, anyplace i can get it etc Thanks
-
iv done probs another 500km since refilling and it has not moved.
-
i did the service myself always have. as i said there is no leaks nothing going out the back. wondering if the valve seats are stuffed and whats on the top is going into the chamber over night. iv put more oil in it back to the right line. drove 200km today and checked again and was fine so doing my head in. it always used a little oil needed a top up every 3-5tho but 800km and bone dry i dont get it.

I ended up having to go to ford when mine went cost me near $100 for a rubber ring but needed it that day for a trip and everywhere needed to order it sent from mobile -
15/40 I'm also thinking might be the oil filter if always used cooper filter now this one is a repco and it has given me oil pressure light for a sec on start up since fitting it, iv always used 15/40 in it and always used penrite. Thinking Gregg is right, as it sounded like no compression then went really hard so I held foot flat and that's when it started to kick to life again just don't know why its using oil. sent from mobile

yeah out of all the ones iv looked that. the performer has been my pick so far. only gonna change it once so money is not a big deal if it gets me what i want

lot of mucking around yes but nice to know it can be done especially with the easy ecu setup from a e series v8. i thought about it as i have a 302 windsor efi top end but its only the stock one so would just lose power over the carb setup.
-
i have read the post from the pic that was put up plenty of times http://www.hax.se/efi/ the guy had a 351C and could not find a EFI setup for it so he used a windsor setup. if you notice the pic put up it has the thermostat on the manifold. read this post i linked might help with efi setups for clevos as he seemed to get it running well with a windsor setup and running a ECC4 ecu ( e series v8 ) ecu and looms
