    Holley 600

8565 bolt kit is for bolting the inlet manifold down, suits 7564 air gap. The 3/8"? bolts should work just the 5/16" might not be long enough for the 2750 performer on one side, BUT a 2750 2v performer also comes with 2x 5/16" bolts & a plate to block off the choke stove hole...

    exhaust sounds

@gerg Tho Wagons are bad for exhaust resonating through the car, Bros XE wagon has is bad for it, My bros wagon has same exhaust as on my XF ute (minius cat) no drone on XF but really drones through the wagon when on the highway. My XF utes exhaust sound didn't change much to when I changed from stock manifold & cat, to extractors & hi flow cat with same cat back exhaust, The exhaust did really change with my new engine tho, became louder & bigger cam makes for a nice idle note, Pacemakers, 100 cell cat, all 2.5'' (for now) with Hooker Aerochamber muffler, (3" tip). Videos is some footage I found on my camera, could be from before it was tuned from the hi idle,

    Holley 600

I've changed intakes a few times on mine, spread bore to AFD hi-rise, to factory square bore, To AFD hi-rise to factory square bore (yes twice) & finally performer, I've only ever removed dissy cap & leads, then just the intake.

Head Gasket selection for 4L SOHC.

an alternative to wet&dry to smooth the deck is a combonation stone, I recently brought my bro a new one for work (mechanic), I get them cheaper through my work, Norton/Bear large (230mmx80mm) silicon carbide stone.

    Mystery rear main seal size

    84DA block is one piece rear main, (92mm x108mm x9.5mm), 86DA 95mm x110mm x 10mm, Yeah nearly like someone put a 84DA crank in a 86DA block one way of comparing cranks is flywheel/flexplate bolts, 84DA crank will be 7/16" UNF, 86DA being M10x1.25. Found a Volvo rear main 92mm x110mm x10mm https://www.precisionintl.com/part/c/100000-standard/109000-gaskets---sealing/109128-rear-main-seals/b/elring/seal-ring/044.598.html

    Holley 600

I'd look towards the Quickfuel range for better range of tuning options, I've got a QFT Slayer 600 Vac sec VSF on my xflow, over the Holley has changeable air bleeds, rear jets & billet rear mettering plate, Vac sec progression is adjustable buy a screw, compared to likes of the 1850 of holley I think Holley also shared Quickfuels features the Brawler range of carbs.

    Deciphering engine number

Between the CA & O is a blade screw head that holds the plate into the casting mound, don't really mean anything most australian clevelands had have it, the 8K3 is the casting date, 1978 Oct 3 https://www.fordification.com/tech/datecodes.htm

    Aeroflow heads??

Got a link on the Cleveland Aeroflow heads haven't seen them yet, Saw Proflow have a few listings for 2V & 3V Cleveland heads, but no stock, Pavtek ported iron 2V are $2675 complete, change over or your heads. AFD alloys $2800 assembled(C1) ($1500 bare), CHI 2V around $3200 assembled(C1) ($2200bare), SCM 4V CNC ported (has 5 levels of porting) from $3520 bare.

    88 XF heater tap

When I finally replaced my XF utes heater tap as it had a leak & didn't work found it was blocked solid, changed to new one & heater finally worked, till it split the heater core about 18mths later (which I still need to replace ), block off for thermostat housing is 3/8" (GAS), likes of supercheap have them in a blister pack on the stand with the trim clips & bolts packs. or if want to fit thermo fans later a Tridon TFS110 thermo fan switch will fit,

    Boingk's F250 4x4

Yeah also cab has hole for fuel filler in the LHR for behind seat fuel tank that was 73/74, 75 went to external fuel tank, think most High boys I've seen where 300 6cyl from factory whats the ID plate codes? my bro has a 302c we pulled down & found it that had open chamber heads, as did my mates XD fairmont wagon, previous owner said it was bit slow yeah with 7.8:1 comp we could see why.

    Boingk's F250 4x4

Yeah I did it for explaining different heads for someone on facebook, so could tell what it has when on the engine.
  17. FORD_MAN

    Boingk's F250 4x4

R 1975 Y June, which is unusual as it has the steel dash not the later plastic dash which is in most 75's, 73/74 had the steel dash, Sido number on the ID plate should be 73613 F250A 4WD C.Cab 3379 mm W/B 3493 kg GVM Cab chassis or 73614 F250A 4WD style side box 3379 mm W/B 3493 kg GVM #did read a f truck forum post that said the F250 4x4's came from canada which is why the dash is different for a 75, open chamber heads have 2 low bits with once being longer then the other, Closed chamber has 3 low bits about same size,

    WINDSOR SMALLBLOCK TALK

block only needs a bit of notching, I could clearance it with a burr, or just get it milled it while machining the rest of the engine, 347W also saw this while I looked up stroker clearance

I'm most likely getting my bros efi 5.0 V8 & 4 spd auto, few ideas have been 347, alloy heads, hirise, 750dp, street solid roller, other similar but add terminator X ECU, GT45 turbo, see how long till it splits,

    CLEVELAND ENGINE TALK

Phil's white XB hardtop, has done drag challage a few times now runs low 8's, 383 clevor twin Percision turbos, fueltech, powerglide, it started as a 383 cleveland with reversed stock manifolds & extra flange as spacer on passenger side, steam pipe crossover & a borgwaner S475. Ran a 9.90. Scotty on here is currently turboing a clevo xd ute, with holley stealth efi, Auto all depends on power level, C4 can built for 1000hp but with hi torque of turbo & weight of falcon would be closer to 750hp, Or just go a powerglide or maybe turbo 400, (4L80E) Blow through for up to 15psi (maybe 20psi at a push), large Intercooler, fab some manifolds up or stock reversed with flange spacer(LHS), steam pipe crossover, Yeah mount turbo passanger side, I'd think something like a single GT42-GT45's/S476 (ebays do very a bit), (& even suit more boost with EFi.) I have thought a few times of turboing my 302C with 15psi should be around 570hp, a mild 350hp 351C with 15psi around 670-700hp. Plenty of turbo E series & commo's with Borgwaners, but I'd go 31 spline axels, 3.23/3.45 spool or trutrack. I'm interested in Holley Terminator X, $1000USD for ECU, terminated wiring harness, & touchscreen, or there's also Terminator X MAX has drive by wire & trans control. Harry & Corty are fitting A LS & terminator X to Birdawg (search Haulass garage on Youtube), they go over the install, I'd nearly have a go. I think Cleetus has one on Ruby as well Terminator X Ford 550-937 is plug & play suits 5.0, 351w efi or 460efi (& i can get my bros 5.0 ), or Universal 550-936, OR Megasquirt MS3, For a hi boost EFi I'd go 351 long rod or 393 Clevo, powerglide, 9" 3.5 (which I have ) around a 88-92mm single S488/GTX50, EFi of some sort, E85, AFD's, modded single plane, 25-30psi

    Cleveland lifters

a quick search on Cleveland fireball 302A, came up with is a Crane cam 300/303adv 224/232@50 .505"/516". alright sized cam for a 302C would of made power to 6000rpm around 300hp at a guess, I'd get the springs tested (spring pressures & lift they suit) as they possibly already may suit a decent cam, I like Camtech Cams, & have a Crow cam in my cleveland, got a Camtech for a mates 302C,
  23. FORD_MAN

    Cleveland lifters

if it had new lifters, I'd say someone replaced them but didn't run them in, (same as when you run in a cam) which leeds to wearing lifters & cam, My Bro did it to his XF ute, new lifters on old cam didn't run them in, all lobes where worn down but also wore off 4 cam lobes worst had was cyl 6 that I measured at .140"/.118" valve lift best cyl 1 ex with .360", standard is around .420". But is a good excuse for a nice new cam

Cleveland HEADERS - anyone used these?

I've got oversized Proflow 1 7/8'' 3.5" stainless headers, PFE-EH4085S on my black XE ute, I've was looking to get a set of either them or the TriY version for my S-pak ute, they also have stainless xflow headers, Saw a mate got a set of their E series headers, I'll check them out next time I head over to his place.

New Motor for Rods Mad Maxy Ute

Yep same on my XF ute, blocked top water outlet from head, bottom outlet to heater tap, tap to heater box, heater box to water pump, has a 5/8" barb to 5/8" barb fitting to extend the water pump hose. tho not hooked up at the moment as I need to replace the heater core as it was leaking,
