single rail 1st gear teeth how many ?
SLO247 replied to CHESTNUTXE's topic in Transmission and Differential
Definitely put a selector shaft seal in it to keep the oil in, never seen one that didn't piss oil out. -
You need one from an XF or ZL with EFI. Pretty sure XEs with EFI didn't have the TFI module for whatever reason.
-
Genuine ones were 19" and didn't come in E series offset, so yes copies. If they are clean and the tyres are near new its not far off.
-
Here's another question. More for curiositys sake. Did the 302 and 351 use the same pistons? Were they dished? Just standard Falcon engines, not 4V or GT.
-
Yeah that's right. Pistons to suit the longer rod on a 351 crank have a different pin height to drop the Piston down.
-
If you need it just send me a message.

I have what I assume is an 86DA motor in my carport. I'm going to be taking the sump and a few pieces of it for mine. If you want the block or anything off it before it goes to scrap, it's all yours. I'll be watching to see how it this goes.
-
That's perfect thanks.
-
Here's a simple one. Did a 302 and 351 have a different cam fitted standard? XD vs XD.
-
Needs the tub line to be higher to look normal I think.
-
That was definitely correct, 1 3/4 is what I used.

Would this work? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-V8-BELLHOUSING-CLEVELAND-TO-TOPLOADER-OR-SINGLE-RAIL-XA-XB-XC-GT-GS-351-/330939273230?hash=item4d0d84900e:g:R5oAAOxy2YtRuSG2

I met a bloke using a 6 cylinder T5 on a windsor with a modified single rail V8 bellhousing. Should work the same for a clevo. While I'm here, did any old V8 falcons have a cable clutch? XY or similar? I swear I've seen bellhousings with the provision for a fork. If that's the case I won't have to convert my XD to hydraulic clutch.

Permatex number 3 I've always used, the aviation one. Nearly anything will work. I normally brush the gaskets both sides, bolt threads too yes. I've left the o ring dry normally but they can be a pain to get on and off.

I'm not sure what triggers the pump but the guages sure run off the traditional sensors. Would be very basic compared to modern EFI. Would be able to fit a carby easy, just needs power to coil and dizzy and an electric low pressure fuel pump. Weber needs ignition switched power or run a Holley etc.
-
Yeah the fronts have the tone wheel on the disc.
-
Just read that again, if the abs tone wheels are on the axle ends then the rotors will be the same.
-
Calipers are the same. I don't know if the tone wheels for the ABS are on the rotors or what but the non ABS rotors will fit anyway. Guessing its going in an X series? Won't make a difference if so, use whatever discs you have.

That stance, paint and wheel combo is perfect.
-
This is how it's going to be.
-
Can always notch the shock tower.
-
Do you guys have the mobile touch up blokes over there? They would fix that up for a few hundred. Otherwise I agree with Jim, slowly fill it all with paint then wet sand smooth and polish. Wont be perfect but should be tidy.
-
I think he's just talking about the bell housing.
-
I haven't seen a thread, I just pulled it out of an XD I bought years ago. Had a T5 but the bell housing has the old 76DA part number. Haven't looked at it for a while but i think they were drilled and tapped.

I have been trying to sell it, the problem would be freight. Are you in Vic? Its iron and would have to weigh 20kg I think.
