3 inch lowering block u bolts

3" wow, why bother? not very safe or legal .. -
Front is pressure out, rear is return.
-
Ok then, good vacuum at the modulator?
-
They're easy lol .. Got reverse?
-
Forward clutch issue . Not really valvebody related unless it is a selector not lined up. Line pressure goes direct from manual valve the forward clutch that's why rules out V.B

You are best off with new axles Rob. Never seen any success in cutting and resplining. Once you cut into the soft core of the axle they are weak.. By the way looks good
-
Not all the same. 6 cylinder and some V8 ones from the smaller motors up to 307 etc use the weaker 1.82 gear set. You want the 1.76 trans identifiable by measuring output shaft diameter is slightly different between the two Depends also on the power you want to run the factory cases have their limit.

Ok , whoops .. Won't pass on that info again..Not good

Got this guys card at a swap meet little while ago, what he had on display looked good . Think he might been Ipswich way?? Not sure Shine Bright Trims Paul Jackson 0430 274 147

Exactly right, it should spring one way . It has not been assembled correctly.

XF is double flare (cone) style on the line from under car chassis end.

Check the valve guides. I had that same thing, started as. A cold miss occasionally then one day bent bad. Issue was a few valves sticky and tight in the guides. Was told was c'mon with Castrol oil. When valves were out the guides were all gooey.

400 at the flywheel? A good rebuild paying close attention to all clearances , clutch packs and end float etc . An R servo, if yours is a 6 cyl is likely a B which is small apply. . The 5th clutch in top gear . The 40-2 kit gives plenty of line pressure for that power. There are some lube mods at the pump and #9 thrust washer . And the front planet set as i mentioned . Most now are worn and need either replacement or rebuilding . There;s a few options .

Cooler will need flushing with clean solvent . If the converter is used really should be split and cleaned , unless the oil in there now is near on perfectly clean. Trouble is if reusing the fresh oil will wash any contaminents into your nice clean fresh trans Kevlar bands are ok but not necessary . The factory linings on the bands give very good life or i like the red lining but not always available. 40-2 kit is fine to reuse but you must be familiar with how it is set up. Have seen many that have been reassembled incorrectly. The 40-2 gasket is different to the one in the rebuild kit so be careful . Either reuse the original if it is good or there is a small mod you can do to rge channel casting that you then use the stock gasket in the rebuild kit. I like to add an extra clutch in top gear. Roller thrusts are a nice addition but not essential at that power . The list of different mods i do is endless

That kit is way expensive . Try ATP motospecs http://www.motospecs.com.au/index.php?page=atp http://www.motospecs.com.au/index.php?page=contact

Reverse servo piston Full GSR kit (Gasket, seals + rings) All clutches front band rear band Front pump/converter bush Extension housing bush filter #3 thrust washer sprag/ roller clutch and springs Forward diaphram spring modulator You'll find front planets are likely worn also . This is just a quick list . Not forgeting torque converter also and a good cooler

Chrome ones are jink like mentioned above , always seem to leak , gasket or o'ring doesn;t make a difference .
-
That looks good. Actually just saw similar setup on eBay with braided Teflon line and tee piece for oil pressure switch exactly as you described. Look up item #

Could make it work. XC + XD C4 came with a nice cable and mount bracket for the trans on the 6 cylinders. Trans bracket needs a little mod for a V8 pan fill case
