Pretty sure that the drivers side switch needs to be hooked up for any of the other windows to work so if its a switch it probably could be either. I had to pull mine apart and clean them once. Do they work off a relay? There are 2 in the passenger door of my car but didn't look at what they did. hope this answer makes sense or at least gives you some ideas. for some reason I seem to have decided to lie awake all night tonight so I'm running a touch slow

Haha i had the same problem, just need to pull it to the point you think its gonna break, then just a bit more and you have it.

I tried the Repco brand lifter/tune up additive on my BA Falcon a while back due to a reoccurring shudder on idle, added the fluid to the oil like it said, the car became nearly un driveable constantly stalling and suffering power issues until i changed the oil the next day. No damage done (short term anyway, new owners are happy) but if your gonna try the additive just go easy on it would be my advice, I only used just over half the bottle and my car hated me for it, Most likely a sensor issue so might be ok on an older style motor.
