My Xc has 'Tracker' above the 4.9 Badge?

If you click on the link in the post you made, i clicked on the tick box in the bottom right hand corner of the pics which bring up a blue bar at the bottom of the screen, click on the second blue box marked "link" which brings up a new box and then double click on the box in the bottom right marked IMG codes and paste it into your post.

    Engine location

  6. Rang the local diff joint and asked the question and old mate told me the only issue he had was it was too expensive. When they clean out a diff they get out as much oil as possible by draining and mopping out with paper towel, then hit it with degreaser and a pressure wash with water and dry it all out with compressed air. Was surprised to hear they sprayed water into a diff centre, but apparently its common practice. Just interested to see what others have done?
  7. Thanks for the replays gents.

    Nath's Cleveland

Yep just got me thinking and adding up numbers, and I've spent waaay too much on my XF (been over a five year period but half of that spendings been in the last six months) doesn't matter what you doing or how your doing it if your playing with cars your gonna be spending dollars. What ever you think you need to spend at least double that, there is always unforeseen costs, one thing leads to the next and once you start you've just gotta keep going. Not trying to discourage anything btw, just know we all do the same thing. Worse things you could be doing with your hard earned.

    Nath's Cleveland

I know when my father in law built his hj tonner the 308 had been sitting for a lot of years, so he filled it with diesel, let it sit for a week or so (not exactly sure how many days but was multiple from memory), drained it out and when he cranked it over reckoned it blew a heap of black smoke to start with but ran perfect after that. Still running now. So I guess it would hurt the heads???

    Wheel Selection!

For a reasonable price anyway. Just keep a look out on gumtree and eBay (as I know you do anyway) and if your not too fussy on style and size (eg 15 to 17 or so inch) and your main priorites are keeping it cost efective and clearing the brakes, something will come up soon enough. Sorry mate, I just realised I haven't really helped at all. Aah, You'll be right.

    Wheel Selection!

Haha we obviously have very different tastes my friend How bout some convos, hang on that ain't gonna work at 400 odd. Maybe, and obviously looks shit hot on D's, globes, if you can pick them up cheap (obviously not easy), but there's two for sale on gumtree for under 200 atm, if you can find another two for the same price happy days.

    Just broke something???

It will sort of clunk in and drive, is that normal of a metal and gear oil soup centre?
  16. Just dropped the clutch (with a bit of revs) in the XF and.... grind, clunk, clunk, clunk, grind, clutch back in, and same story trying to let the clutch out and engage first. Can get forward and reverse gears but have to let the clutch out very slowly and be very gentle with the revs, otherwise it just grinds, and is worse when turning. Limped it back to base doing no more than 50 in third and when I tried to down change slowing down, just more clunk and grind. Would this be likley to be a broken axle? Or maybe diff gears? I'm down the coast with a 90 k trip home. I'm wondering if I'd be safe to try and cruise it home on the highway,or best to be a tow job?

    Just broke something???

This is in my build thread, but will shove it in here too. wheels spin forward and backward with the car off the deck and in gear. Does get caught but you can force it and then spins just as easy as if in neutral.
