Me too. PM sent Q. (i'll just ad in part of the pm here incase it benefits anyone else) You have said that you think 20mm spacers are the limit of what you would want to use, do you think there would be an issue with using them in combination with a strut brace. I haven't yet acquired a brace but most i have seen look like they have pretty thin shock tower mounting rings. Thinking of trying of cutting and having modified a camry one as suggested long ago in the old "getting your XF to handle like it's on rails" thread on xfalc. What cha reckon?

When i had my engine bay resprayed the painter ripped off the rubber seal between the rear edge of the bonnet and the firewall with the idea of masking up behind that so i could replace it and there would be no lines from painting. Problem is they were available through rare spares part no. BL205 xd-f bonnet lacing, but have since been discontinued. I have searched high and low ringing around countless main stream and obscure parts suppliers, and many hours spent searching the internet for a new item but all to no avail. I have not checked the wreckers as i assume that as mine was torn to shreds when removed, a second hand one from another vehicle would suffer the same fate. Yeah I've got both the adjusters all the way tight from memory. Glad that got you out of trouble for now anyway

It's not the right way, and i still have to fix mine as i doubt it will hold on a steep hill, but i had the same issue with my sedan and i've at the moment got the adjustment part from the xf on the system too to get the extra length. It's a bit too long though, as the umbrella is very light. Still holds, though as i said i haven't tested it on any sort of substantial slope....

Hmmm, maybe not. Now that i think about it all i'm remembering is taking it in to get a wheel alignment done and when asked if i wanted front and rear i was surprised as i've never had a car before that required a rear wheel alignment. My bad, that's prob all it was, caster adjustment.

my 06 bf fairmont has adjustable rear camber....

If anyones interested i found a product that should do the job perfect at clarke rubber. They call it "Sponge extrusion self adhesive blister 16x12mm" part no. 31633, was $11.95/m. I bought 1.8m, but 1.6 will do the job easy. Here's the stuff Trial fitted this piece this arvo and it fits perfect, the rib at the top seals on the underside of the bonnet like it was meant for it. I'll put up a pic when i clean up the area and install it.

Quite possibly, i'm struggling to find a pic using google images of an xd or xe with the bonnet lacing. Can only find a few xf's.

Yeah mine was certainly not brittle, I'm sure with only a few fucks given it could've come off neatly and undamaged. Annoying but wadayado.

Prob not, I might just have to clean up the area and get over it. Was just hoping to hide the line between new an old paint. Also was reading a bit about air pressure/flow in the engine bay somewhere a while back that made me think it might be a good idea to put it back there. Can't remember the detail though, my memoriy is only really good for about a week back at best and that was months ago.

Haha, cheers bear. The bay looks a little tidier than that now but I still think it's a mess. Needs lots of little love touches... I'd think it would be the same as the ltd's, and I did call into Clark rubber for a quick look. Only prob is I don't have the old lacing and have no idea of the size or profile of it.

i've got one those fm tuners, its only a cheapy and would have to be somewhere between 5 -10 years old and it works well.

it looks like you now have no bump stop, or is that just the angle playing tricks on my eyes?
