Think that lets you start the car if its a smartlock problem Chris. Only prob is if ya turn car off you have to do it again. Lol.
-
Sorry mate, the smart lock , key transponder and barrel are all matched. If you have no interior light working or low battery voltage that will stop ya smartlock. Otherwise contact gallapogos on here for a j3 chip , plugs into ECU and can bypass smartlock if you ask for that option. Jack.

Strange Braking issue - EF Fairmont Wagon

Hey mate, I dont like the look of those pistons. Its the leading edge, should be nice curve to it. Looks like its been coming out/retracting unevenly. They were pretty badly pitted to start with, did they clean up ok or still have pits? Tolerances are pretty fine on those pistons. Jack up front as well and wiggle wheels, sometimes after new bearings they take a lil bit to seat and need readjustment. Or the pads weren't loose enough when doing bearings, making them feel tight when in fact they are still loose. Just few ideas. Jack. -
Lol my mates 350 diesel has a thong slapper. .... oh the shame. .......
-
That sounds like warped discs, or caliper slide pins bent or need lubing. Also check ya pistons in calipers are retracting properly. Sometimes they get sticky. Jack.

Your farked then. Lol

I have one of those cassette things with a lead that hangs out, can connect whatever ya want to it via mini stereo jack. Buy a decent one will cost ya a whopping $20.

Any momentary switch will do if its rated at more than 10 amp. Jack.

Chuck a remote brake booster in. Will give you all the clearance you need and not overheat your brake fluid. Nice set up mate. Jack. -
To be honest I did have concerns about mounting the msd under the water bottles. The thing is unless the water poured into the box its fine. It is rubber mounted away from the body so water running down the panel would miss it and any splash ,the motor heat and fans will dry pretty quick. I also like it in the bay so when I run the laptop on it I can do everything from the one spot. Each to their own. I like em mounted inside as well. What I like more is an MSD that doesn't get interference from any other source. Only way to fo that properly is shortest run from msd to dizzy, just to be sure Jack.

Nice work mate, if you find it gets too warm there you can always make a nice heat shield for it. Make sure it works then loom it. So nice to see the pv coming together. Happy dayz. Jack.

Just rigged up an MSD 6530 with a blaster 2 coil, no probs , coil runs cool. Usually if a coil overheats its because the supply voltage is too high. Some although a 12v coil only require 5v after start up. HVC2 coils are expensive for a reason. Blaster2 coils are oil filled, HVC2 is a resin core. Resin core coils last longer and have a more stable output. You can use blaster 2 coils on an msd 6al2 piece of piss. If ya coil is getting hot I suggest a ballast resistor to drop its supply voltage. Jack.

Howz it going in JCA? Hope its being nice to you. jack.
-
I'd replace the dizzy with a bosch one can buy new on ebay. Then just yo be on the safe side replace drive shaft and check oil pump. Hope she comes up a treat, just remember that to do the timing you need to bridge 2 pins on the test plug under the dash. Earth pin and test pin. Jack.

He just didn't want to make a monkey out of ya....... lol. Glad ya got her sorted. Jack.

Theyre not even good for that bear. Alloy shitblock not heavy enough to hold papers on ya desk on a windy day. Yout boat probably drift into Indonesian waters and confuse piss outta them when no-ones on board for their pay off.
-
Think the others explained it better than me, my next suggestion was beat it with a bigger hammer. Lol Glad she's running. Jack.
-
Nice work banno. Ya old man knows a few ol skool tricks. Hahaha. Best of luck. Jack.

If you pulled the dizzy out when rotor pointing to no.6 then if you line up the timing mark on 0 and put the dizzy in to 6 again you are 180 out on the exhaust stroke. I always take off the rocker cover, get no.1 piston to top and check rocker arms, both should be 'on the rock'. That is compression stroke (bottom should be on 0 if ya done it right) If the exhaust valve is tight and rocker wont move your 180 out if rotor at no.1 position. Only way to know for sure. Hope ya get it sorted mate. Jack.

Did they rubber mount the msd Sly? Vibration is their biggest enemy. Vibrations crack cuircut boards. In a show car Im not sure. If you want to hide all the wiring in the bay maybe inside is the go. If you want to show off all the bits, in the bay. Jack

I agree with gerg, jca. We mounted Ash's bogan ute msd under washer bottles on xf. There is a panel that runs at a nice angle below there and makes for a tidy install. To be honest wait until motor is in and accesories are on it then work around that. The msds have a coated cuircut board for water protection. Think the most important thing is the wiring. I loom all my wiring separately for the msd and we mounted it where it is because it's closest point to dizzy. Like all wiring, the longer the run, the more resistance is created, so keep it short. Ash's is for a crossy but seen as the dizzy on Ford V8's is at the front as well it will be fine. Jack.

Dont take that out! You'll never be able to save ya father at the under the sea dance .... or get to see chuck berry live.... The damage you cause to the space/ time continuem may never be able to be repaired. Jack.
