    XD Stromberg-Weber Vacuum Lines

If your carb was off an XE the job would be a whole lot simpler. You really just need to figure out the vacuum advance and plumb that directly to the carb, the rest if you can either just loop them back or plumb them to a source of vacuum and they should work. No need to go all out with trying to match the diagrams as you are missing 50% of the emission parts.

    Stromberg BX Woes

http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b534/fordrpo83/Mobile%20Uploads/20150101_114708_zpsffe7d831.jpg My stromberg has the idle mixture completely sealed. According to the offical ford cortina service manual it is non adjustable in normal operation and can only be drill out. Thats a bit strange because the old one from my XC clearly had a screw with a plastic cap over it so i'm not sure why this one is different.

Your this far in now what do you have to lose by using loctite it'll either hold or it wont. Might give you time to organise a better carb for that engine.

You could always lock tight the brass insert into the carb. It may or may not work.

Hmmm looks like a bit of a dogs breakfast now, doesnt it? You might need to replace the base, probably could pick up a cheap rebuildable stromy from somewhere.

    Kill Switches!

Auto tran switch is the easiest to setup just piggy back off the wires and fit a switch in a convenient place.

    Crossflow mild build, need advice

You may find that cam a little bit big for LPG, especially an Impco 225, you might want to step back to a cam around 208 degrees, the lack of vacuum when using that cam with LPG will make the car a bit doughy off the line, I've used it before on LPG setups and found it to be a little underwhelming below 2500 rpm barely better than a stock setup. The 225 will run out of puff before the cam will anyway as they only tend to run out to 4200-4400rpm. Crow has a good dual pattern cam part number 14776 which is 204@50thou IN and 214@50thou EX, LSA 112 degrees, rpm range 1500-4500, while I haven't used this cam personally...Yet, I 've had more than a few blokes who run LPG tell me it works really well with the 225/EFI manifold setup as the rpm range of the cam pretty much matches the maximum flow rate of the 225, and provide excellent low down and mid range torque as well as excellent economy. The Camtech cam you listed is a good cam but it is definitely better suited to petrol setups, I used it on my XC with two different type of LPG setup and it was good out on the highway and had plenty of legs which matched the impco 425 that I was using, but it was hard to live with around town and it was embarrassing having some spikey haired little punk in a corolla smash my XC off a set of lights up to 60 km/h. As for comp ratio aim for 10:1 or slightly higher, that will work well with LPG.
  14. I saw that they weren't a progressive throttle setup like the ADM which meant they would behave like a 2 barrel holley, I was just curious to see if anyone had used one as not much info from Oz about using them on larger engines, most stuff is 4 banger related.
  15. As the title states, I'm researching carb options for my TE and found the weber 38 DG series carbs which look interesting. I found a couple of US websites where they have been fitted to their pre crossflow log motors with reasonable results. My question is has anybody tried these on our crossflow sixes? How do they perform compared to the ADM 34 weber used on falcons?
  16. Yeah i'm looking for about 200 bhp from the six in my TE, I've got a reco'd ADM from an XE in shed that I'm gunna fit just to get rid of the holley. I am going to start picking up some four barrel bits so I can stick one on after I get every thing else sorted and the car has rego on it.
  17. As the title states I'm looking into carbs for my cortina and due to past experiences with 350 holleys, mostly lack lustre and thirsty I'm looking at the ADM weber as I have used these before on mostly stock engines and found them to be an honest and reliable carb with good economy. How do they fare on cammed up engines? How much power can be had from them reliably?
  18. I'll probably have to get some pics of the exhaust up after I get the car back from getting the tranny and diff sorted, car has 2.5in sports system fitted and the muffler sits right behind the rear wheel.
  19. Looking to upgrade the stud pattern and calipers to a falcon 5 stud setup on my new aquired TE Cortina, how does one do this? Are there any off the shelf kits availble to suit 14 or 15 inch wheels?, and where does one get these from. Thanks in advance.

  21. Nice, how did you go for muffler clearance the one on mine seems to sit pretty close the rear left hand side tyre.
  22. Cool thanks guys Will 7 inch wide rims fit under the bum of a cortina? The plan is for 15 x 6 on the front and 15 x 7 on the rear.
  23. So just to sum up what parts would you need from me in order to square up the transaction as they would be no use to me once done?
  24. Hey PRO, what parts are included in the kit and what changes do I have to make to fit it as my Tina has dead stock brakes ATM?
