Hey guys, so getting around to dropping my Windsor in the Corty (very slowly) & was playing with the pile of parts I have. Looks like the Flywheel I have is a 6cyl one. So Can you run a 6cyl Flywheel on a Windsor? Looks like it will bolt up & I have the clutch & all that just thought Id ask you guys before I bolt it up. Long story but the guys who built the engine fucked me around endlessly so I recently took it back. I have asked them as I was told it had all been balanced. Waiting for a reply. Also, I'm no expert but this flywheel doesn't even look machined to me. What do u guys reckon? Cheers.

Running a Toploader. Talked to the guy this morning & they gave me the wrong flywheel. It never ends with these dicks. Thanks for all the replys guys.
-
yeah 6 holes. Ill have to hit up the cocks that attempted to build it. It had a different flywheel originally because the old school pressure plate (XR style) that was on it originally doesn't fit the smaller flywheel.

So any advantage running the smaller Flywheel & Clutch?

learning every day, looks like im up for a new fuel rail maybe

Thanks Gerg. wish I knew all this before. I fucked my engine. Definitely must've been a contributing factor to my failure

Never knew that one. Could have been another contributing factor to my turbo 250 wiping the cam lobe. When I pulled down the engine had no Thermostat. Should have clicked when I put in the turbo engine in & it ran a lot colder than the original one. No wonder I got the engine for a decent price. Is there any advantages to not running a thermostat?

Is it right for me? Windsor 289 Block, has 347 Stroker kit, but I would think crank recess size would stay the same. Will be mating to Toploader. Ive only done ones on 2.0l Pintos before & they were a needle bearing type to. Would this have an indicator for direction or shouldn't matter? Thanks. Rick -
I run Bosch 1000cc injectors on my turbo Crossy. When it's running that is.

Making power above 4000rpm on a turbo crossflow

Heres my Cam specs & Dyno if it helps. Chinese Turbo, ported alloy head & port matched exhaust & inlet with stock manifolds, 1000cc injectors, bottom end lightened balanced etc, oil cooler Haltech ps1000ecu, 16psi. -
Looking good there Matt, keep the pics & dyno results coming!

As the title suggests, my Turbo 250 Crossy has suddenly developed the symptoms of no Power and a quiet but hard intermittent Clicking/ banging, only under acceleration. Like it will idle good, beautiful, rev it a bit and the clicking comes, it has no power on the road but if just changing down and letting it rev a bit, no noise. I haven't driven it since it happened. I wasn't driving it hard at the time but do occasionally. but the engines only done 2000K's +/-. Its a fairly powerful car but now it's just absolutely dead, porbably drove it 25-30K's home after the noise developed. Didn't seem to get worse or louder. Thanks in advance.

So anyway, the engine's out now. Will be getting re-built early in the new year then run in PROPERLY. Ill post some pics of the internals when it all gets under-way.
-
Good luck with your surgery & keep up the good work Stumper.
-
Yeah if you call a 3" with one straight through muffler that dumps at the diff a full exhaust. They also plumbed in the turbo to the manifold directly and a couple other little things as at the time I was thinking of running Methanol injection & no intercooler
-
After the engine was in the car I basically bolted the Turbo on to the Manifold & gave it to the exhaust shop. Told them I needed Starter Motor access without pulling it out & showed them where to put the Wastegate. 1700 Bucks later...This is the first time Ive actually had the whole piece out as is together.

new pics

Also, what do you guys think about getting a high volume oil pump? I was thinking of upgrading but noticed It says on the Camtech Cam spec sheet they don't recommend use of them?
-
Yeah will do in the next day or two, the stock exhaust connection just goes straight to the wastegate and there is a flange on the side for the turbo. I should have turned those pics around to....Heres a couple more pics.

Just thought I'd share a couple pics of my setup while my exhaust Manifold is off. Let me know your opinions.
