Down to 18 on the highway and around 25L around town....god I Love LPG
-
BLUE LPG in Lilydale mate..One of the few places that will deal with someone without a gas ticket
-
When i was an apprentice and had no idea about cars I had a very mild 351c, single rail, 2.92's in a ZB fairlane....Ran a 15.0 flat with poorly adjusted lifter preloads and rings that I forgot to gap, god that thing was tuned poorly . If you get better then a 15.5 you deserve a medal Gerg

Hi everyone ......... I've created a facebook page dedicated to the good old Borg warner M35, M40 amd M51 series transmissions. Feel free to contribute your thoughts on this legendary 3 speed box that has multiplied every bogans 250 crossflow torque and power potential since 1978. https://www.facebook.com/?sk=welcome#!/pages/BorgWarner-Inc/121677597857698?fref=ts

I'm looking for factory like drivability, what's the point of spewing out heaps of unburnt fuel at low rpm over an extra 100hp up top? The T56 will offer such a good spread of ratios that it will more then make up for the short fall in hp.

Stroker's aren't meant to rev :/, Sly nows all about tractor motors and RPM. I'm fascinated in knowing what my bucket of bolts will one day be capable of doing. I want to show the high stalled fraternity a thing or two on the track and strip with a good old stick shift

$16,000 for engine, gearbox and tailshaft I meant. I personaly want my car to hit 300kmh in top gear so manual and 3.27's for me. What can a 408 with 500hp, T56 manual and 3.27's run???? Car will only weigh 1,400kg

Update..... Still adjusting my tune, my economy is seriously bad. 30L around town and 25L on the highway I've bought another throttle body and relocated all my converter reference hose and bypass hoses for the mixer. My main gripe is a lack of vacuum signal to the converter, haven't checked how much vacuum its pulling but it can't be very high.
-
You are dreaming mate, $8,000 wil buy you pro comp or total shit. $10,000 minimum for the long motor with headers, carb, dizzy and then another $6,000 for a gearbox, auto and tailshaft. $16,000 grand for a proper driveline, how do I know? I'm 3/4 of the way through and stuck at the gearbox atm.

Clevelends like crossflows don't need anymore exhaust duration cause their too big to begin with. split pattern cams are for windsor's
-
That cam signs off between 4000-4500 mate should have got for the single pattern GT cam 215/215 duration. Your cam will do thou if your running 9.1 comp.

Idle adjustment how to minimise difference under load
xeeclipse replied to mcfly94's topic in Crossflow
How does the vacuum modulator on the trans work? try changing that maybe? -
Idle adjustment how to minimise difference under load
xeeclipse replied to mcfly94's topic in Crossflow
It must be something other then a vacuum leak mcfly due to the the rpm difference. Even if there was a vacuum leak the differential between park and drive would remain the same......250-300rpm -
slap on a new water pump chief.
-
Lets not get personal here, everyone has an opinion. Whether you like it or not a viscous fan will maintain engine temp better then any thermo, this can't be disputed it's fact! Why do all commercials, trucks and even late model bmw's run viscous fans? Toyota/lexus drove their fans off the power steering pump (hydraulic pressure) which was the the best of the lot IMO.
-
Ahahaha..... an electric water pump and thermos on a cortina that has <150 rwkw......
-
Love how dick heads run thermos...."Hey bro but i'm leberating an extra 5 hp" not a smart thing to do at the expense of your engine don't you think? For those pushing above 5,500rpm on a regualr basis please ignore this.

x Flows have shit harmonics SLYDOG, I respect your determination to push the envelope but there are cheaper alternatives like a mild v8?
-
Ive never had issues with crow cams. Had a few engines run like dogs on break in and cams have always held up well. Diesel oils are usually full synthetic these days, I wonder whats the zinc content like?? I run half a tube of molybdenum paste with some 15/40 GTX3 in all my engines on initial break in.
-
few gaps in your understanding but you definitely know more then me at your age.....Read much street machine Mcfly94? I'm a street machine mechanic 80% of the time lol!
-
I think this is the windsor you seek........
-
Idle stop cuts fuel to the idle circuit. Your car is only running off the progression ports and the lean mixture is what causes the poor idle. Kicking the accelerator pump cam in the guts is the only way to keep it running.......been there done that
-
All the toughest V8 box cars run windsor's cause their more inclined to hold together under RPM.....Stock block = <6000
-
you'll be lucky to hit 400hp unless you want to rev it past the danger zone..... 6,000 rpm
-
Have you checked the idle stop solenoid for operation?
