Just fit some good 4" speakers and you don't have to stuff around with spacers and crap. They make good enough sound. I have a monster stereo in my AU and its great but I barely use it. I'm running all the stock equipment and new pioneer speakers all round and it cost me $60 for the lot when JB had a sale. Sounds fantastic coming from the stock XF pioneer stereo.

May need to roll the guards mate my XE use to have 10s. 9.5s you will be fine without rolling guards. You can also get BA offset to tuck them in more but you should be sweet with PRE AU for 9.5"-10" sized wheels

To me the loom looks like it provides an extra earting point for the CC unit. In my new unit the cable doesn't break off in a 'T' and have that extra earth. I assume the later versions earth through the loom's negative terminal. I have my old actuator that might be functional still I will need to try a new cable. It never worked to begin with though. I can always try.

Hi guys, I'm at the point where I have got everything working beautifully in my XF ghia and the only mystery that remains is the cruise control. The original vaccuum actuator in the car was completely rooted (cable broken etc) so I removed it and replaced it with a later 87 model actuator (all I could find in nice condition). The only notable difference I can see is that it doesn't have an earth lead coming out of the casing. Now - the problem: I have my 85 cruise control ECU behind the trip computer, the red led lights up when I turn the car on, it flickers when i press the "SPD" button on the binaccle controls (that means its working??). I'm driving and I hit the 'SPD' button then I hold the 'SET' button and nothing happens. I have no idea how to diagnose these things, do they have a fuse? Is there a way to test the vaccuum actuator? Anybody with experience in these please help me out! Regards, Alex.

Don't think they have a switch there that might be a newer model cruise setup. In the XF its just an ECU and a control unit. Any assistance guys?

1985 cruise control ecus had a red led on it. Anything onwards had no LED. I even tried a 1987 ecu and still not working. Tested both brake light switches and they work perfect. Has to be something else. How do I find out if the cruise control unit is stuffed?

I went to a wreckers on the weekend and to my luck there were a few low ks XFs so I took all the door mechanisms as spares. To my surprise I worked out why my NOS door mechanism didn't work, when I refitted the spring on it I put it the wrong way so it was not holding in the lock position properly. Go figure oh well its all sorted now

Hey guys, I have a problem with my XF ghia. The other week I changed my outer latch to another one from the wreckers as it was in better condition then mine. As soon as I did this I was unable to open the door from the exterior handle. I have a brand new door mechanism from ford installed. The problem is that when I pull the exterior handle up the arm on the inner door mechanism gets stuck under the other arm which is responsible for keeping the door in the lock/unlock position. It just doesn't allow for the door mechanism arm to fully extend and open the latch. The interior door handle works perfectly. I'm stumped and I have no idea what is wrong. I've replaced the rods for spare ones I had, bent the door handle rod and still the same thing. Its like the door mechanism is getting stuck while trying to open the exterior latch. Could it be the latch perhaps?? I have also just replaced the hinges. Any help would be appreciated. In addition when I pull the central locking rod up the door opens. wtf is going on?? Sorted the issue, fitted a spring to my original door mechanism and it works fine. Where on rarespares do they sell the spring? As I would like to have a few spare. Cheers, Alex.

Hey guys, Can anybody please provide me a scan of the internal front door mechanism and rods from a workshop manual? OR can anybody provide photos regarding how the internal door handle rod connects to the mechanism in the door via the plastic pivot arm? Cheers, Alex.

Banno mate amazing lead you gave me. Went on saturday and he had exactly the pinstripe on my car, bought his entire roll of the stuff just in case I need to do the car again in the future. Anybody else wanting pinstripe go and see Geelong Auto Image!!

Hey Guys, Have been trying to find matching coloured pinstripe for my limited edition xe ghia with no luck. I have tried autobarn and other auto shops but I still can't seem to find the right colour. I have provided pictures below comparing "saas" brand gold to my pinstripe. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers, Alex.

Thanks mate I will have a look. The car has been garaged all its life with 100k on the clock it isn't faded plus the stripe on the inside of the door is the same colour!

Its a pain because I can't even name the colour lol

Hi guys, A while ago I bought these off ebay to fit to my XF ghia, the seller said they came off an XF however they are totally different. The screw holes are in different locations and the shape at the top is different. Colour is also a different shade from the XF ghia grey. I am assuming this is from an XF ute or XG ute. Can anybody confirm? Picture below. Cheers

I have tried every product in the past it only makes the glass more shiner but all the little imperfections still remain unfortunately. I will give them a try. Awesome I will check them out too thankyou!

Hi guys so im restoring my xf ghia to new shape im wondering whether you can buy brand new door windows? (I already have windshield). Or do i keep looking for mint condition windows?

Polishing windows does not work unfortunately once they are scratched its impossible to bring them to new spec. I will give my local ford dealer a call and see what they can do

Which are almost impossible to find lol
