does the actual size of the t5 box change requiring a different driveshaft to suit eg. xf,ed,el? Or must you only change to suit your diff. I know dean has already told me to get the driveshaft to suit the LSD im putting in which I recently got for free.

I used rod shop engine mounts to suit a Barra conversion as there the same blocks nearly
And a sway bar from tuff mounts to suit a Barra to clear the au sump .
I used a stock v8 core radiator but spun it around 180 degrees and welded the fittings on the other side of the radiator
I run straight lpg , and a dizzy out of a xe falcon .. I'm upgrading the ignition now but it works pretty well at 7psi Or would be good for carby/lpg n/a engine
You will just need a xf t5 crossmember for t5 conversion and a manual pedal box

yes I can, the only place the bar is connected is where its welded to the brackets.

Hi all,
I have a 3 spd auto carbi xf. I have a LSD disc brake diff out of an e series I think that I want to put into my car. I know I need to change the master cylinder. Anything else? I think my dad said I might need to change hand brake cable.
I also want to t5 swap it. For that I will need a crossmember and gearbox mounts which I can get from Castlemaine Rod Shop or an XG or XH. A manual pedal box which I have at my local wreckers waiting to be picked up. Will I need a bellhousing out of a t5 XG?
And then later on this year I want to put an AU intech non VCT motor in. I can do the job I just need to find all the info and I've been reading up the past month and am struggling a little bit. If anyone has any info or can post links to threads that they know might have info it would be greatly appreciated. It dont want to pay someone to put it in id rather attempt it and learn something from it.
So far I know I will need XG engine mounts, I will most likely go standalone ECU or chip the au ecu to bypass smartlock. Im going to need an xg bellhousing to adapt the t5 to the au motor in the future. XG swaybar doesnt clear the au sump so im gonna have to go custom I think.
Any more info or links is greatly appreciated.
Would not even think of doing stuff like this without this forum.

Is it legal to remove the heavy bar in the xf rear bumper so i can piss off the tow bar? Image attached

I think having 2 motors would be the go haha. One for crushing holdens and one for emission testing, or if I get defected for no pollution gear or what not you can just swap it back in to clear it. But in saying that it sounds like a massive hassle.

Probably easier to get it rego'd with a stock 5 litre Windsor out of an ED, and then accidentally install the other engine one day.
Does the new block come with engine numbers..??
I dont think it comes with numbers, I know someone who had taken numbers off their stock and transferred them as you’re suggesting and its worked well for them haha.

Oooooooh yeah. Very tasty.I dont know how I would get it to pass emissions so the build is up in the air at the moment I’ll have to speak to a tuner

I’m thinking about getting a ford boss block and starting a stoker efi build for around 450hp. Not sure as to what parts I would be using at this point, but before all that, would I be able to pass emissions? I am planning on putting it in my 1985 carbi 6cyl xf, would I be able to get it engineered? I’m reading up on all the laws at the moment but if anyone knows or has done this and would like to give me a quick work that would be great! Also I have an 94 fairlane 302 that I just picked up, dont know if that will help in any way but it was cheap haha.
Backspacing on 15" wheels
in Wheels and Tyres

Hey all,
I trying to figure out what the perfect backspacing is to fit the guards nicely on an xf
would 15x8.5 with 5" backspace not be enough. My dad to think 15x9 with 5" backspace isnt enough.
I am looking at street pro 2 wheels but they only come in 3.5 and 5 inch backspacing on 15x8.5 wheels
Would 8.5 be too much for the front and should I get 15x7s?
