I've got the 6-3-1 on my xflow atm , they sound heaps different the the other type on a single system . Very smooth . I'm going to try and set up a dedicated twin system with the normal style headers and get some back to back numbers . But what works on my engine mightn't on a different combo . Time will tell

20in of vacume is good! It just seems like a lot to me because my engine has 5in at idle haha I wouldn't be too concerned about it being sluggish with the auto and 2.77 . Just get it running OK and once you change the drive line it will wake it up a lot and you can tune it from there . It won't be particularly responsive with factory timing , the cam needs around 20* initial timing . A quick Google search should point you to a thread on the xfalc site where there is some good pointers on how to re map the dizzy .

I used a cam tech 528 on an otherwise un-opened engine with stock intake and carb , went quite well . Timing was 12-14 degrees . 20in of vacume seems high?? Ditch the std dizzy and get an est or tfi(with the modual removed) and that will lock the timing up , set it to around 28* to start with . You don't have to go all out on an intake manifold , anything 4barrel will do . But you will need an adaptor to fit the quadrajet .

I'm not 100% sure on what's damaged , but it did cross my mind about what could have caused it . I've never pulled a 4l apart so it'll be a good learning curve

Thinking along the lines of all this stuff . If I was to move the spring/shock perch outward on the uca , this would increase the spring and shock "pressure" relative to how far outward it was moved ? Thinking along the lines of leverage

Today I got my BA back from the panel shop after a closed door respray, courtesy of Ford . And it has a shit tonne of orange peel on it . So the question is , how much peel is 'acceptable'?? Or will it flatten out over a few weeks ? I think it looks terrible compared to the crap job ford did in the factory but I don't know what the standard is for a reputable panel shop . I'll try and get some pics .

He said something about ford only supplying 2nd grade ppg paint . He also said they don't use ppg any more , can't remember why tho . Apparently the paint they use blows on like glass , sounds promising

Well I had a win today , went down and spoke to the business owner and he didn't argue at all . Just said they would re do it . They must have known it would be back , any tradesman would know they did a shit job . I guess I'll see how it looks in a couple more weeks

Thanks for the input , it's definitely a rush job because when I was speaking to the owner of the panel shop he said ford only pay 2weeks of labour and nothing more . I told them to take their time as I didn't need it back in a hurry . I never expected the paint to have a glass finnish , but the photos don't do it justice . The bonnet is ok , but the roof and boot is as bad as the rest of it so I dunno . They forgot to put the falcon badges on the boot , there is dust under the decals on the bonnet and there is blue paint in the boot and on the back seat from where they have scraped it off I work at a dealership and am around new cars all the time and this paint is far from what is coming from factory . I just need to know where I stand

They would have to do the whole thing , they even forgot some badges from the boot . But that's nothing really . Just the little things that let the whole job down

I'd be happy if they simply cut the peel off and polished it reall nice , cheapest way out of it with the best result

I got it done under ford warranty/recall . But surely it shouldn't be this bad , if you look from the side it's almost astho it's a satin finish not gloss . The bonnet is Mickey Mouse . I don't know how they went from one extreme to the other . I paid to have a few small dents fixed and even that isn't done properly

Ok so I'm just wondering if a BTR will work with no computer/ecu ? And if it needs an ecu will I need a tps ? Plans are to fit one to a xflow with a modified bell housing

Can I loose the ecu and just have it fully manual shift with a heap of switches ? Don't crs do a turbo to xflow bell housing ?

Hi , a mate just picked these up . They're ford pattern Enki 3piece wheels . Has anyone seen them before or know what they're called or kno anything about them ?

They are definitely light as a fether can pick up the rears with a 265 tyre no worries Perfect offset for a falcon too , awesome set of wheels

Hi all Just doing some brainstorming for future projects The question is , does anyone know the width between the shock towers on xw/y ? As I've heard it's a bit narrower than the later x series

Is xa same as xw/y ?
