  1. That was actually an aftermarket upgrade made for BA-BF which is significantly larger than the factory unit, supposedly efficient up to 300rwkw on an xr6t. Not massive by any means with a core size of 450x305x75. The factory XR6 ones are 175mm high; 370mm wide, 55mm thick. You would gain power in an xr6 just from removing the restriction and would sustain power levels longer through better cooling efficiency.

my XR6T has a plazmaman unit 450 x 350 x 90 mm running about 310rwkw.  I can feel heatsoak on hot days in traffic, if you have an option I wouldnt use the stock one.  At least go for the typhoon spec.

  2. If its original paint and they haven't been off they should come off OK. Use a heat gun and slowly clean off the left over gunk.

If you want to sell them let me know. My XD S Pack is missing one.

not sure if selling but will keep that in mind.

speaking of which you can buy this set for a cool 1k start bid LOL

  4. dammit, cant get the middle top screw off, next to the rubber bonnet stopper. the back of it has a thin metal washer nut (im sure there's a name for it). screw just keeps spinning and cant get anything underneath to hold it.

    any suggestions?

also how would you go about putting it back together again?

    cheers

  5. Howdy all, as title suggests.  To remove is (if I remember from 15yrs ago) bolts along top, behind the front wheel, remove indicator and there is another bolt there?

Was going to clean it up, use POR metal ready and then spray matt black the inside the of the guard. Sound like a good idea? Any suggestions welcome.

    Cheers

  6. How'd you go JGP?

Yeah not bad.  I set the hose on jet and ran it over the area, couldn't see any leakage.  In saying that I reckon its still a good idea to replace the seal, at least then I can check if there is any rust forming etc....

  7. Gents,

In todays heavy melbourne rain I noticed a drop of water where the rear window demister is connected (see pic with orange circle).  Does this mean the rear window seal needs replacing or something else is going on?
