X-Taxi 472 Posted May 21, 2013 I'm running king springs all round in my Xe and in the front of the XD.
jamie247 542 Posted May 21, 2013 are they standard / lows or super lows i'm probably gonna run 18inch rims so I don't want any scrubbing issues
Crazy2287 1,886 Posted May 21, 2013 Running pedders superlows on front of xf 6cy with 245 wide on 17's and get some scrub on bump stop plate at lock.
Ants 6,370 Posted May 22, 2013 Pedders springs are much better than kings imo. I run pedders in all mine.
MNTL.XD 3,831 Posted May 22, 2013 I found Pedders to be quite stiff, which is perfect around town or in the city, but because i'm in the country and have to put up with crap roads, i've gone to the much softer Kings (Super-low) and it rides heaps better, so i guess it comes down to your own driving environment. With brakes i have always ran DBA slotted rotors and have never had a problem, i only run them on the front as rears aren't really necessary IMO as they are really only an 'anchor' for the fronts which do more of the work in actually slowing a car. The standard discs get quite warm very quickly giving brake fade early, the slotted rotors seem to keep their cool for much longer than standard, which is important when you're constantly on/off the brakes (city) or slowing from 100km/h and downhill mountain type driving in the country. Ants 6,370 Posted May 22, 2013 I drive all country given I live in the country. I would say the opposite lol.
jamie247 542 Posted May 22, 2013 what heights would you guys recommend
PSI_LTD 37 Posted June 20, 2013 if you're planning on lowering the car, it's important to fit stiffer springs to compensate for reduced suspension travel. otherwise you risk bottoming out of the suspension, which degrades grip rapidly. king springs are fine for cruisers, but if you want to throw it around, get some stiffer springs. Campo 869 Posted June 20, 2013 Dba rotors, bendix pads. King springs and either monroe gt shortened shocks for the budget buyer or koni's if you want to spend that little bit more and get an amazing result. 1 mcfly94 reacted to this
Mr Polson 10,214 Posted June 20, 2013 DBA rotors, Bendix pads. Kings vs Pedders, IMO (I have both btw), Kings are a harsher, stiffer ride (better handling). Pedders are softer and more comfy.
jb351 7 Posted June 20, 2013 Had Kings superlows all round in mine for a couple of years, included at least 12 months of it being a daily driver, pretty good springs and tyres don't scrub, running 15" Weld prostars.
jamie247 542 Posted June 21, 2013 cheers guys i'll throw this car big time with it having nearly 650hp so I want a good setup
78xcgxl 241 Posted June 22, 2013 Make sure you have travel between the upper control arm and bump stop and don't ride on the bump stops or it will drive like a bag of shit.
mcfly94 169 Posted June 28, 2013 Thats why you cut them in half 1 Mr Polson reacted to this

Actually I found they drive well due to next to no roll during cornering... But the ride was terrible
