Xg falcon cranks but not starting.

Recommended Posts

So I have an xg falcon that is cranking but wont start. The fuel pump does prime however I believe it’s something electrical. I had the battery disconnected for about a day when I was doing some welding and rust repair. Then I also changed over the plug for the a new stereo and now its not getting any of the interior lights or smartlock flash on the dash. Everything else works tho headlight wipers indicators. What would the problem be. Was running beautifully 2 days ago.

check the interior light fuse/globe.  (not 100% on globe, but the fuse is related  i think)

i had a feeling if that's not working it stops the smart lock working.

not sure which fuse it is, in the fuse box.

you need to undo 4 plastic screw things half a turn (cover that goes under the steering column, . need to push the handbrake in as it goes around the handbrake also.

can see one of he plastic screws in this pic next to the white plug

Want to check a couple of fuses but yes the interior light fuse is one to check and Wiper fuse is also part of Smartlock.

Does Smartlock light go out after you switch ignition ON or just stay blinking?

Ok so I checked and changed all the bad fuses. Car runs and is all sweet however every time I go to plug in the radio the interior light fuse blows. The wiring for the radio has been previously messed with by the owner before me. The stereo that was there before had no faceplate so a don’t really know if it worked.
