Aussieyobbo16 7 Posted September 2, 2020 I've just bought a ba rtv and the airbag light shows on the dash. Sometimes a combination of flashes (4 then pause then 9) other times it is solid. Any clue what might be causing this.
SPArKy_Dave 8,829 Posted September 2, 2020 Airbag code 49, is to do with a sensor under the drivers seat I think? Try checking if the drivers/passenger seats have side airbags, and/or see if the wiring underneath has come apart.
Aussieyobbo16 7 Posted September 2, 2020 I have glimpsed the wiring but wasn't sure it was airbags since its a 3 seater model. Ill look it over on the morning.

Any idea where this is supposed to be wired to, got a red wire and a green and pink one
SPArKy_Dave 8,829 Posted September 3, 2020 Has the seat been replaced?
Aussieyobbo16 7 Posted September 3, 2020 I'm thinking so. Looks as though it's missing a plug in the side of the seat (got three on the car side. And I can see where a plug has been broken off the seat. Possibly getting another one tomorrow.
SPArKy_Dave 8,829 Posted September 3, 2020 Maybe the sensor has just been broken? Is the sensor even there? (should be same as passenger seat I imagine)

Passenger doesn't have one as no airbag on passenger side

The connector has been broken off the holder on the seat for the other plugs. I think jts got the side airbag but does have the ine in the dash.

Aussieyobbo16 7 Posted September 3, 2020 No its missing entirely. I even went to the point of pulling the seat out and taking all the trim off the side and lifting the carpet up. Still found nothing

Maybe the RTV's didn't have the sensors, and the airbag module has been changed? One thing to check - often with Airbag systems, the plugs have integrated metal strips, to short the pins on un-used plugs. And/or, for plugs which get accidently un-plugged. Maybe there's an un-used connector somewhere for the seat sensor loom from the airbag module, which has lost it's shorting strip?
Aussieyobbo16 7 Posted September 3, 2020 Ill have a look tomorrow. That today I found that seat only had 2 plugs while there were three on the loom that went to it.
