Dirtyxhute 39 Posted July 28, 2020 Help ! Just had my tank taken out and inspected for the first time last week since it was installed by ford brand new. All of a sudden I’ve got rough idle, and it’s cutting out as soon as I drop the revs over 1500. Not having the issue when I run it on petrol

bear351c 10,260 Posted July 28, 2020 Sounds like they haven't opened the valve on the tank. ??
2redrovers 21,372 Posted July 29, 2020 Possible they didn't open the valve fully. Also possible the gas that went back in wasn't clean/dry. Is that under all conditions? First start?.. hot running? Depending where I get my gas from it lacks power when cold starting until it warms up, then fine. United seems to make it do that whereas Liberty(shell) doesn't. deankxf 20,233 Posted July 29, 2020 did you refil the tank? they take the gas out to test them.. they don't put much back in, only enough to test..
Dirtyxhute 39 Posted July 29, 2020 I refilled and it ran, got it home, moved it a day later into the garage then went for a lap around the block. it was running rough but it had full range revs . Now yesterday it started cutting out when I took it up the road. So nothings actually happened or been changed, just the tank last week.
Dirtyxhute 39 Posted July 29, 2020 It’s doing it warm, first start. Every which way
2redrovers 21,372 Posted July 29, 2020 Yeah I was annoyed at that with the last test I had. Half a tank went out and barely a quarter went back in. Assuming it's also the mixed gas from previous testing tanks of unknown origin.
deankxf 20,233 Posted July 29, 2020 doubt it matters what gas it has in it you could try open the tank valve more.. if it's fully open i can only think the next thing might be a KINK in the copper line if they were rough removing the tank? if so, it should be going back to them to fix it.. Dirtyxhute 39 Posted July 29, 2020 Cheers boys about to drop it back to the mech who organised the gas. will wait and see if they charge me through the nose for something invisible. Will update once I get an answer 1 bear351c reacted to this

Banno 479 Posted July 29, 2020 Check all earths. Probably forgot to reconnect or loose.Earths play havoc on gas systems particularly relays to operate correctly.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 deankxf reacted to this
Dirtyxhute 39 Posted July 29, 2020 Valve seems to have fixed it ! Didn’t end up taking it in to mech thankfully, got side tracked and pulled apart other things haha... down the rabbit hole we go. 2 1 2redrovers, deankxf and bear351c reacted to this
2redrovers 21,372 Posted July 29, 2020 One of my rovers wouldn't shut off the gas without using some sort of pliers on the valve and then wouldn't flow unless absolutely undone all the way again.
