motoSycho 690 Posted January 1, 2020 Just noticed today that on the drivers side my rear tyre is about 20mm out past the guard. The passenger side is about 5mm inside the guard. I took the wheels off and took a heap of measurements and the diff is pretty much centered. Maybe a mm out. Measured the tyres, the rims, width, offset etc and it all was the same. Even swapped them to the other side. Dropped it back down and this time the passenger side was out! Ok, I thought, the rims are different widths. Took it for a drive and it is back to the drivers side being out. What the hell is going on?

I was going to swap it over anyway, guess I'll do it this weekend now.

I've had this problem on an xf Ute, just how it was built is the conclusion I came to. You don't notice it till you fit wheels that struggle to fit under the guards. Also had similar issues on the front. 1 motoSycho reacted to this

I'll throw my rears on to my spares ute and see what they look like. I'm running 9" rims with 265/50 14 on them, so it is really noticeable.
gerg 10,871 Posted January 1, 2020 You may have:Rusted out or broken centre boltSlipped u-boltsSpring packs walking sidewaysChopped out isolator pads (where the centre bolt locates)Worn shackle bushes and pinsWorn front spring eye bushesSprings warped sidewaysMaybe a tiny bit of each problem is adding up to a lot.... Leaf springs are beautifully simple but not exactly what you'd call Swiss watch precision.Sent from my CPH1903 using Tapatalk 1 motoSycho reacted to this
