G’day all. While bleeding the cooling system on my bf falcon, it suddenly dumped all the coolant from the expansion Bottle.

i drove the front left wheel up on to ramps and removed the expansion bottle cap. Then kept the revs up to 1500 for 5 minutes.

This process should bleed all the air out of the cooling system.

why did this happen does anybody know ?         Has this ever happened to anyone before ?

thanks for your helpful replies...

Sounds like you got it too hot with the cap off, and it just boiled over. Best way is to fill it up, put the cap on, drive it, give it some berries, come back, and let it cool. Then check it and it should be well and truly right by then. It really should bleed itself through that hose from the top of the thermostat housing, even when cold.
