I believe there are much better venues than this dust hole, that offers no shade and makes our amazing cars look cheap. When we think of the value that many of our classic cars are now worth, why degrade them by displaying them on exposed grounds like this? Not this year for me, I'm afraid. I'll wait till next year, and hope you find a more suitable ground to take our magnificent machines !!

i reckon they'll lose visitors and display cars for this location. they should find a more central location, Geelong is a long way to go for sunburn and same cars as the last 10yrs with an extra 1000kms on them at best.

I know of 4 cars that won't be going, mine 1 of them.

itll either be a dust bowl, or if it rains, a mud pit.

the latest pics I've seen show nothing but dead grass, and big cracks in the ground.

there is also a meat processing company that you'll pass on the way in.

Hope the wind is blowing the right way.

hanging rock is much nicer, and not just the same old FORD stuff.

but don't let me put you guys off.

ok guys,

Again we need to find a judge for this weekend from the club. Because i didnt ask anyone or give AFD anyone's details earlier, the organisers have volunteered me because they have direct contact with me.

would anyone else like to take this position off me?

Id rather not do it if I can help it, especially when I have 2 cars entered on 2 different display sites.

Best of luck this year gents!

Sorry I couldn't come this year; it turns out the old girl needs work after my latest interstate jaunt that I really shouldn't put off any longer. Maybe next year?

The power steering leak?

A Pump seal kit is $15 aftermarket, or $80 genuine.

I have a new pump here also, if you like. :)

Steering rack leaks, are a little more involved

Pre-meet details below:

Location: BP Service centre Little River, Geelong bound

Time: 7:00am for a 7:30am departure time. Show cars can enter from 8:00am. it gets busy very quickly so lets get there early and get setup easy.

See maps below to see where we are meeting. you cant miss the place, its a big service centre. I will be parked in the truck parking area. Look for a green Mk1 Escort, and white XF wagon (pics in my signature of cars)

Right now,

I have a choice of the V8 wagon with peeling paint on the bonnet, or nothing...

So it will likely be nothing.

I have that Marquee tent thing, which the club bought.

ZL is doing is damnedest to avoid this trip. Since last week all power steering hoses replaced, two new tyres, a new battery and now the alternator is a bit sad at about 13.7 volts....
Anyway I'll be there!!
Already made the 100 km trip from my house to Melbourne after a year laid up. 9b33455af966aecac86d71889af43cb7.jpg17c4d13ff903058becf119bcdb4f027e.jpgd69b34e8e012a3c7f2175c453fb4b84a.jpgbfc164cb8d4608f6483b97a891460046.jpg

that should be plenty..

With a new battery yes. And a highway drive in daylight hours. But I'm thinking this going back into daily duties this year. So alternator is needed anyway.

Yes I do...

I'm working on that in the background, after a rough couple of years (more like 6-7yrs). 😥

We're setting up the raw framework, for regular structured events/cruises - which I need to speak to you about.

Notice how (as of tonight), the forum now has an Events Calendar in place. :)

Yeah, I do need to drop that at your place.

How many bars on the bolts gauge? Mine sits at half, with headlights off and fan off or on max. With fan on 1,2,3 or lights on it drops one or two bars at worst depending on engine speed.

Regulator (which includes brushes) are reasonable cheap and available too.

Its sits at half or slightly above. Might just put the brushes on.
