Started this project in March 2018. Work in progress.

Due to the fact I am a Star Wars nerd I decided to theme my panelvan as a intergalactic repair vehicle. Its been slow going but I hope to get it on the road soon I had a preroadworthy check done in April and have just been ticking off the items as I go through.

I purchased the van from Anakie Victoria and it had been shedded for 9 years and is not registered. 4.1lt EFI auto with 234k on the clock it has Dual fuel but the gas system is out of date, not sure if i will get rid of it completely or restore the gas system on it. I will endeavor to keep this thread updated with my progress.XHpano-2018-Resize.thumb.jpg.07ff0c2fe4b1fd02433782d200bddb2e.jpg

Show us some more pics of the panelvan, as it sits now!
I have two XH work Panelvans - an 11/98, and a 09/97.

The 1997 one, is a tidy-up project in action, just like yours. :)

if you are on a computer, you can right click, individual photos, open in new tab.. right click on the full size and copy image address and paste in a thread here and it will show.

there's probably an easier way, but that's how i do it.

Is it actually a Tradesman Panelvan,
or does it just have the Tradesman pack wheels on it?

Here's what my 97' XH looked like, when I first saw it -
(looks way better in the pics, than it did in real life)

i don't think we (non Admin) can delete. no option for that on My post.

i'd just edit it, and write "double post" and a moderator can delete it later..or you can add another pic or story in there

Not sure about the longreach verses the Tradesman Van. Mine has bucket seats carpet floor and the engine bay is slightly different. Never had a Ford Van before the last van i had was a 1977 HX Holden back in 1990

they do like to rust.. i nearly bought a HJ-HZ(ish) 308 4 speed van about 25yrs ago, test drove it and considered it to drive harsh and didn't go that well.. bought a XE falcon pano ex cop van with worked 250.. didn't have it long, it broke down too often before i learned how to fix things myself. (wish i had it now, all easy fixed)

Tradesman XH's were an option pack, which included those Sunraysia style wheels, an LSD with Dynamic Brake distribution valve,
Plus a plastic liner in the back.

Late 98 and 1999 XH's had a hybrid motor in them.
Raw alloy rocker cover, and the 99' versions, did not have the belt shroud either.
The late XH's also had factory central locking.

Oooh, it still has the factory radio too!... very rare to see! :)
Must be reasonable km's too, as the steering wheel grip is not perished either.

It looks super unmolested under the bonnet, and should detail up nicely... good score!

Is it a 12/98 build?

You might even give @thorne's XH panelvan, a run for it's money. :P

Like hell! B)

Interior looks pretty neat, apart from some fading. Noted the original stereo, and also the cigarette lighter. ;) Looks like a series 2 interior, judging by the steering wheel and console. Does it have a cargo divider installed, or can you move easily between the cargo bay and passenger area?

Yes it does have the short cargo divider but i want to take it out and create the old style van deck out like this one.
