SPArKy_Dave 8,870 Posted August 31, 2018 Hey Action Man... you drive buses for a living yeah? Does the bus company you work for, have any restored vintage buses? What about their own workshop? I reckon do a thread on the buses... that'd be cool! 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

SPArKy_Dave 8,870 Posted August 31, 2018 I remember in primary school, one of the buses we used to get driven around in for excursions, weekly swimming lessons, etc. (local bus company) It was super loud with the engine under a massive cover up the front next to the driver. I never knew what it was at the time... but vividly remember the racket it made. I've since learnt, it would've been a 2 stroke commer knocker engine or similar! 3 deankxf, gerg and 351XD_Fairmont reacted to this
CHESTNUTXE 7,310 Posted August 31, 2018 The ford grey pretty sure this is the correct 5.o engine colour ? SPArKy_Dave 8,870 Posted August 31, 2018 Personally, I really enjoy the sound of the Foden 2 strokes - turbo'd AND supercharged! They kinda sound like the Volvo 5 cylinder engines.
SPArKy_Dave 8,870 Posted August 31, 2018 Yeah that looks like the right grey. Maybe a tad too dark, but could just be the camera or light level? Here's a pic of a NOS Windsor EFI engine... 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

SPArKy_Dave 8,870 Posted September 1, 2018 Seems like they didn't get painted very well from the factory? Or maybe the cast iron was already rusty, and the paint flaked off over time? 1 CHESTNUTXE reacted to this

So one off a 80s/90s F150 manual would do. Or get a clevo one balanced to 50. Starting to be not so simple now huh?
