I thonk he charges $80 or 100 bucks for acid bath then hot tank the fooka a hundred times

@XTREME KARTS XF would know all about that engine i suspect. he followed the sprint cars a fair bit last year or before

i would say not too bad cond,but the motor had done some kms,im thinking what colour to paint the block ,most go blue or black,but im thinking that grey ford engine colour ?

i looked up you tube and its pretty common on these you need a big c clamp and a 14mm socket and clamp down on the socket until it pops then the keepers come straight out i did just 1 and it worked so over the weekend i will pull apart everything and start my rebuild process,ol m8 hasnt even put the block in the tank yet so probly another week b4 i get it back to assemble the bottom end.

Did you try tapping it down with a brass drift and hammer?? Just support under the valve with some soft timber ( pallets are good for this )

I saw on you tube about blocking some smog port or something do i need to do this ?

I doubt it. It was on a he earlier ones. Had a pipe bolted to the back of each head running from one side to the other. Plus ports hanging down inside the exhaust ports.

Thermactor Air Injection...
Basically dilutes the exhaust gasses with compressed air, via the vacuum pump.
And gives the cats some oxygen to burn up the remaining HC in the exhaust. Fuel injection can run lean enough to not need air injection, not so with carbys.

First clean up of the 1st head and after quite a few hours cleaning its starting to look a bit better

that was just after i washed it ,then re machined it.,anyway there is a number stamped into the exhaust side 5. H0 13 this could be there rare heads sparky dave has been hunting for years.NwFCq57H_o.jpg
